Hi i have just changed my front discs on my exige s2 with Ultimax Turbo Discs, from elise parts. I have left the old pads on thou as still loads of wear on them.
I have just done bout 12 miles on them and when i stop right at the last second before the car comes to a hault there as a judder, is this because the discs are new and have the black coating on or is it due to the old pads?
Can some1 plz help me
What do you mean by a judder?
I dont know, when you apply the brakes they are fine right to the point where you stop lol makes a loud noise as well and judders, and i mean its right at the point where the car comes to a hault
have u bedded in ur discs? light braking then increasing it over 100 miles?

As you say it may just be the paint coming off, plus as you have reused your pads they may be uneven as they will be matched to your old disks. This can lead to the “high spots” on the pads getting too hot as they are the only bits in contact with the new disk. It may be worth taking the pads out and taking a file to them to make sure they are flat.
Well dont 40 miles now, and has got improved alot, the paint is coming off and can see where the wear is, the wear is the same areas on both discs which should then mean the the pads are ok. Have been doing alot of braking in the 40 miles think ppl must think im a wirdo lol they must look in their rear view mirror and think he is going to over take then i just stop, also making sure there is no cars behind me lol, but itis getting alot better.
