Looking at the uneven tyre wear after Anglesey I still need to increase the negative front camber. It’s currently -1.25 deg after removing all the shims. I’m going to go with Sean C’s advice to go -2.5 deg. I estimate that I’m going to have to machine 4mm from the upper joint. Any recommendations as to whether to machine the upright face or the Steering arm face? The steering arm would be easier to machine and would not reduce the thread depth in the joint.
Sean machined 6mm off the uprights on mine, to get 2.5 degrees at standard ride height, I think the eliseparts reduced bump steer steering arms would give about the same although at an increased cost?..
Fit S1 top suspension arms!! They are 5mm shorter than S2
Or fit S2 bottom arms on an S1 5mm longer!!

Great idea Dave!

That doesn’t just change the camber though!
That changes the suspension hard points which effects bumpsteer, bump camber, KPI, Castor etc.
I’d stick with machining the plinth/upright.
always considered doing this as well, it would seem easier to machine the steering arms down a bit, but what do I know?
Yes the car certainly needs more front camber than the standard setup allows, machining is by far the easiest/cheapest option.
-2.5 is a lot of negative camber…what ARB and shocks do you run?
Running Lotus Sport 2 way Ohlins with standard 325/425 springs, EP adjustable ARB.
The excess outer tyre edge wear does suggest that the current -1.25 isn’t enough.
I’m also going to fit the 10 notch rack riser plates as I’m running at 105/115 ride height. I had them on my S1 but haven’t put them on this car yet. That should improve bump steer, not sure if it will help the slow speed understeer that I want to improve.
Hi Wes … how do you get so low with Ohlins ?
Mine won’t adjust any lower than 125 mm…
Same here Jonny.
That’s the loaded ride height, careful now…
That explains it … Mine is 125 mm empty

Yea but your car is gay!
Lol someone I know just saw me write that and told me off and guess what he’s got a supercharger too lol if you know what I mean

Just had mine done - where are you measuring ride height ?
Couldn’t get mine lower than 134mm - minus passengers but 1/2 tank fuel
That’s right on the limit of platforms on the damper
Measuring from under the sills behind front wheel and ahead of rear wheel
undertray to floor
Same here. Loaded lower as you say…(posted somewhere on here)…like it lower tho. Will be getting all this done winter.
