Friggin hell!

Just learnt that a 45 year old work colleague, suddenly passed away today :astonished: Alan was a fit/slim lad, who had lost a few “overweight” stones over the last 4 years, & he’d kept himself very fit by cycling to/from work each day. RIP matey.

Sobering news m8 …
Senna once said “life,s too short”
News like this puts our minor problems into perspective too …
Who really cares if Toyo,s beat Yoko,s eh??
:frowning:

Very true John, enough said, mon ami.

:frowning: Sad day

Rob, that’s very sad and I’m sorry for you and Alan’s family and friends but I know of worse… ten days before Christmas our neighbour’s 15 year old daughter was found dead in her bedroom early in the evening by her Mum. She was buried on the Friday before Christmas. The autopsy was inconclusive, no drugs or funny substances, no heart condition. Weird and so, so sad. Her Mum and Dad came in for drinks on Christmas Eve - they are coping brilliantly but they must be so angry - it’s so unfair.

I’ve seen plenty of sad things in my time but this takes the crown of thorns…

So sorry to hear that Rob, this just makes me take a step back and think wtf…

My condolences…

Bloody Hell Rob, sorry to hear about that matey. It wasn’t one of the insider crew was it?

So sorry to hear your news Rob. As you know my mother passed away just before xmas but for someone so young as your friend it is even harder to bear.

:frowning: Sorry to hear Rob

Thanks for your kind comments guys - appreciated.

Mike, your news was truly awful, & I’m sure that you & The Majorette were of great support to your neighbours.

Sadly, it was indeed one of the “Insider” lads, Sean. You probably didn’t know Alan even though he’d been there for years, as he tended to be office based.

guy in australia had a house fire, wife n 3 daughters dead and he’s got 40% burns to his body. Poor sod

Off to check my smoke alarm

Rob - very bad news and especially puzzling given your comments about his fitness.

If anything positive can be taken from such a tragic event, it is that it can prompt each of us to re-examine our lives and ensure we are doing what is important to us; we are savouring the goods things life brings us; and most importantly we are appeciating our family and friends.

So very true Steve,

I lost a good friend when he was only 37. He used to be able to drink most under the table, smoked at least 20 day and went everwhere by car. As a new year resolution he decided to stop drinking and smoking and took up jogging every day. 2 years later he died suddenly which we all thought was the extreme change in his lifestyle.

Mike, Rob so sorry fellas…

Life was never fair… but often cruel.
