Forge ic and suspension

Exige S 2008 single strut engine cover.
Is it just the single strut that fouls the larger ic or is it the strut mounting point on the engine cover too??

Also doing a complete suspension refresh, ie. remove all, clean and powder coat.
Should I replace bushes with something like powerflex? Would painting be better than powder coating? I know the powder coating can be quite thick and may hinder re assembly.

As far as powder coating goes, get your wishbones blasted and powder coated wit hthe old bushes and ball joints still in situ.

Then when you push out the old ones, they will leave a nice powder coat free hole to push the new ones into.

You will need to clean the grease out of the ball joints as it will run over the powder coat when it is in the oven.

As far as what bushes should you use, then the rose jointed kits are the best way to go, and im not just saying that because JSR sell them.

The engine cover single support strut fouls the MMG stage 2 ( unless you have it cut down with LESS cooling capacity- Moonin!). My understanding of the FOrge is it’s damm tight but some have not needed to changed strut. (awaits comment)
I’ve got the RLS strut which works really well. It stores in the inside of the engine cover in a couple of clips they supply.

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but are these just an option on heavily tracked cars or are they suitable for road-based cars also?

gonna stick with rubber
reason: rubber has some give.
have an off with solid joints something has to give ie. chassis IMHO

having forge IC fitted to my 2010 on friday…will let you know what fouls!

Got a Forge on my 2010 car - just needed slightly amended mounts which CN’s fitted - whose fitting yours ?

Lotus Silverstone

i assume you mean shallow rubber mounts?

Suspension bushes is what I meant re rubber. If I were racing as apposed to just tracking then I’d go rose jointed.
