For those Exige S hungry for more power

Came across this on Komo Tec looks like it would work on 240R and S

The Lotus Exige 220S also over 250 HP
The result of the comparison test between the Lotus - Exige S work cars and ours turbo-drive concept in July expenditure the cars - picture Sportscars gave numerous inquiries to us after an increase in output of the Exige S of compressor engine.
The largest Handicap of the Lotus - compressor - variant is the cooling of load air.
Over an air scoop at the roof with only few square centimeters cross section and bellows in the engine compartment itself the cooling air must to the air-to-air one - intercoolers obligations
The load air temperatures of over 80C, measured by us, are beneficial for the achievement nor the health of the engine thereby neither and force Lotus to the adjustment of the characteristic diagram of the electronic controller to the less favourable work conditions
The original intercooler receives therefore from us a water jacket from that the coolant over an electrical water pump to the radiator in the vehicle front is carried. - A solution, which worked in the best way with ours turbo-drive
The substantial sinking of the load air temperature permits now an achievement-optimized configuration controllers - of the characteristic diagram.
Recover to 250 HP and a torque of 229 Nm with moderate 6,300 rpm are the result of this achievement cure those not only all other engine components leaves untouched, but with one package price from 2,930 - also much VALUE (HP) for money offers.
Achievement kit Exige S (compressor) consisting of:

  • Intercoolers in water/air execution (in the exchange)
  • electrical water pump
  • Water hoses
  • Front Wasserkhler for LLK
  • optimized engine expensive equipment (in the exchange)
  • Komo Tec carbon air box system
  • Assembly material
  • Tuningarantie
  • Power measurement
  • Installation
    Price: 2930

…or you could run your Exige S on that new Ethanol/Petrol Eco Fuel mix thingy that Lotus have been testing with remapped ecu. It apparently is putting out close to 270bhp on a standard Exige S! 0-60 in 3.5 secs They are having to seriously upgrade the brakes to cope with it.

All that needs to happen now is for the government to drop the high taxes on this new eco fuel for it to become viable (highly unlikely to happen while there is still oil around.)

Although they claim it was based on an S it was actually a 240R with 5 injectors etc plus you would still suffer from heat soke. It is basically like running on race fuel but with less emissions although you do use more fuel. Tescos 99 uses Ethanol to boosted the octane rating

that’ll be evo magazine getting their facts right then!

I think Lotus just chose to market that way - The S is a proper model not a special so it makes more sense to them to just say it is an S.

They are having to seriously upgrade the brakes to cope with it.

Would be interesting to know what they have done, especially given the issues others have had regarding the brakes on the other upgraded models…

I believe they have fitted bigger disc and caliper combos that they sell
