I will put 12 months warranty on the car upon sale, so you are completely covered should the worst happen.
The car has had rear tyres, toe links and pads all round changed only 1500 miles ago.
The car is fully serviced up to date, has had consumables recently replaced and is tax’d and MOT’d until May 2011. The car wants for nothing and no money will need to be spent until May 2011.

Looks like a nice car - I think what you are up against is cars of similar spec etc from dealers where the perception is that you have some comeback. Buying privately is always perceived as a ‘riskier’ option. Maybe worth spending a couple of hundred quid getting a vehicle inspection report or even an extended warranty etc
Lee this is worst time of the year to sell any car let alone an Exige. All the book prices have dropped. Leave it until April and you’ll shift it for your original price more than likely. If you are looking to make big savings buy Dec/Jan, big losses sell Dec/Jan. Don’t forget the Vat increase will make your car even more of a bargin. Take it off do it later new pics and so on. Good luck
Jonny - Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I need a less ‘in your face’ car for work now, which is a real shame as the Exige is something else! I’m torn between keeping it until then and as you say getting the price it deserves, or moving it on now.
Marky - I’ve been consistently offered between 19-21.5k from dealers (both Lotus and non), but frankly I would rather by a second car and run it rather than trade in at those prices.
I bought the car for 26k in May this year, which was going rate at the time, so to lose that much on a car which really is worth more would be silly - especially when you consider how well they hold their value too
I would by a cheap 1k run around for work and keep the Exige, sorn it and tuck it up somewhere and cut the insurance down to fire and theft if you can afford to then sell it next year at the start of the trackday season
