Flywheels

Anybody got experience of better flywheels for the toyota power cars? While the gearbox is out I may as well get it done, Jonny did you ever get yours in?

No mate, we (JSR) had issues during fitting. I now have a new one waiting to go in…Fidanza, I beleive it’s the lightest available. Could be wrong buddy. I think Mark off here has one in and KomoTec stick them in as well.

Careful Ade, I think Pesky is trying to Lure you in the wrong direction

Yeah the one Jonny supplied last time was properly on the piss. We ended up having the gearbox in and out about three times. It was miles out of square.

A warning to anyone thinking of fitting one, check that it is square and flat before you get it fitted as if you end up being charged for three “in and outs” it could end up being expensive.

Just to clarify, we only charged Jonny for one in and out, because we just love whipping gearboxes in and out so much!!

I’ll reel him in…eventually!

I’ll just ignore Pesky (it’s usually best anyway)
Fianza it is I’ll try and get one ready for the gearbox job.

Pah… the one that got away!

Only problem now is that I’m sure he will try extra hard…

Which clutch do you have in yours Ade?

Exedy, not sure of the model but it is not a paddle clutch.

I asked the flywheel question on SELOC over the weekend:

In theory (just done the fag packet maths) it should make a considerable difference to the performance in first and second and improve throttle response too, on paper it seems like a decent upgrade for the money - also kind of linked to the question I just posted about wheel weights in this forum.

Fensport advertise them

Yeah found these guys, by far the best price. Will give them a ring. Cheers!

I’ve been running a fidenza flywheel from fensport for a couple of years. No problems with it (i have a helix clutch)

The upgrade is only just noticable though so don’t expect a massive improvement.

When I said Mark I meant Chris…lol sorry Chris.

Roughly how many hours will a flywheel change take providing we have necessary equipment like transmission trolley etc?

Apparently a clutch change is a day job (on a ramp) till you have done it a few times :frowning:

6-7 hours…if you do go Fidanza PM JDS/SeanB on here and the feed back on what happened to mine. It’s going back in again when I get the LSD fitted later in the year.

Going to buy mine next week ready for the gearbox modifications
