Flashing light on tach

Hey guys, quick question when i start the car up after 2 minutes of driving the red flashing light on the dash like the alarm is on/off ( its not me bouncing of the limiter and ive checked battery connections and reset for 1 hour too) any thoughts on what it is and how to fix it? Only started happening. ive hooked it up to my obd reader and nothing, nor lack of performance either. On 2006 exige s2

standard ECU?

Nope i believe it has the gotham ecu, if thats right. Been fine for 18mths

OK I believe that’s a reflash on the original ECU so shouldn’t have the flashy lights issues I get with my SSC ECU ( I just ignore them!)

Any other ideas. Ive cleaned battery terminals and tried a new battery still flashing after 40 odd seconds

Is your battery light flashing on off? Occasionally or all the time? Or is it a different light?

Not the battery light. The rev limit / immobiliser light while driving. (It does it when upto temp too) flashes every second. Someone thinks it might be the resistance in fuse 13 so thats my next look

Oh ok, good luck.

I had this a long long time ago and it was something to do with the imoblser, I had to do something daft wth the key fob

Put the key in, turn so the dash lights come on then do something with the buttons

Sorry not much help but I think even if you hold both buttons together it does a reset

Worth a try

Yeah tried that too. I think it might be best buying a new cobra or clifford alarm/ imb should get rid of the issue lol

Nitro,

Did you ever fix this? I’m having the same problem.

Thanks

How long after defeating the immobiliser are your flashes reoccuring? Can you time it exactly?

I didn’t realise you replied, sorry.
After turning off the alarm and starting it up it starts blinking after about a minute, if I press the fob it stops, but then starts again a minute later; all this occurs whilst driving.

Check the fuse for the immo in the engine bay. It’s a 3A fuse in the left of the two fuse boxes,

Sorry for late reply, I don’t drive it much.
Yes, I’ve checked all fuses, it’s driving me nuts.

I did read somewhere that the flashes indicate an issue with the engine, but can’t confirm that anywhere. I’ve plugged in an OBD Reader, but it doesn’t give me anything I don’t already know.

I unplugged the immobiliser and plugged in the ‘thing’ to bypass it, but still the flashing occurred.
I was going to try and disconnect the alarm, but not a fan to do that just yet.

I’m planning to give the ECU back to Lotus for a re-map to put it back, so the 2nd cam comes in at the original ‘6200 rpm’.

Any ideas.

Thanks in advance

There is also a fuse in the inspection panel for the horn. That one on mine was blown.
