Fitting of Carbon Fibre Bits

Hi All

I am about to fit some carbon fibre goodies to my car.

Set of 4 front Canards
Full length Roof Scoop

The instructions are to drill/grind/bugger the front clam/roof - AAAHHHH !!!

Don’t really fancy this - could I fit them with Silkaflex (whatever that is ?) and if so how secure could/would they be ?

Is there anything else I could use ?

Thanks

Sacrebleu, canards?

Sikaflex is a very strong and water proof adhesive used extensively in the marine industry! I have used it loads in my ‘other’ water based hobby.

I have also used it to secure some carbon fiber side intake ducts to the Exige. Works very well PROVIDED you make certain all the release compound has been removed from the carbon. Best also to lightly abrade both surfaces prior to applying the Sikaflex.

The stuff comes in black or white from most good chandlers. When applying, use small amounts as it gets squeezed out and makes a hell of a mess! Best way to clean up is with white spirit and loads of paper towel!

Have fun!
