Fitting a New Poly Engine Cover

Thanks to Junks  I have a new cover to be fitted after the next door neighbours cat (recently deceased ) scratched the life of the original

So my question is - has anyone replaced theirs yet and is it a case of loads of Sikaflex carefully applied???

Sorry, that made me chuckle… On a serious note, I also purchased an engine cover and keen to hear any advice on fitting etc.

Sounds like a pretty tricky job to get this spot on! Especially with lovely black Sika that somehow seems to go everywhere else when ever you use it! That would be a nightmare on a new engine cover!

I would maybe be inclined to go to a specialist Auto-Glass company… they use these ‘glues’ all the time with pretty amazing and neat results in my experience…

Yea that’s why I bought the last one in stock from Lotus for the engine cover, it seems very tricky to take off as well as gluing the part on the middle vent part

Sounds a very sensible :open_mouth: plan of attack Pete

I will keep you guys posted

Just a thought, Simon. I recently used Impact at Bury to sort my gaping engine cover. That involved some glueing of the underside. The guys there did a really careful and painstaking job. Everyone I know who has used them speaks very highly of them. Worth a call?

Mike Santos and the Impact guys in Bury are legends. The paintwork they did on the respray on my car is flawless,…as is every other car they’ve touched it seems

 - 111s Elise in for an Azure Blue respray with them next week - their work is rather impressive…Ted and Mark’s Chrome Orange Exige is as good a respray as I have ever seen

We are rather impressed with it as well Simon  Elise is in good hands, cant recommend them highly enough, true enthusiasts.
