Ok first trackday in MY08 Exige S is tomorrow at Anglesey.

Couple of questions…

Running A048’s LTS and could do with some advice on pressures. What to people use?

Second is the ARB setting. The car still has factory geo and ARB is set on the middle setting. What should I set it to tonight, or just experiment on the day?

Aim to have 26f 28r psi when HOT. Obviously you’ll need to start off the pressures a few psi lower when cold, but you should find the hot pressures okay.

Personally, I’d leave the ARB in the middle position, until you’ve done a few trackdays to familiarise yourself with the car on track.

Hey Damon,

If its dry, 20/22 psi f/r COLD should see you in the ball park after a lap or two.

If it’s wet just leave them around 25/26 unless ambient is way up.

Can’t comment on ARB.

I agree with Mr Pesky.

I start with the tyres on 22F 24R cold & keep an eye on them.

I hear Anglesey is really high grip now so I imagine tyre pressures/wear will need careful monitoring. You may need to drop them as Frank suggested.

I’d also leave the ARB on the middle for now.

I started on the middle & have moved it forward over the past few months. Now on stiffest setting.

Awesome when the car is on track & tyres warm but understeers like a B***H on the road !!!

I’m with you for the tyre pressures although despite what Chris says Damon take the ARB all the way, after a few laps in his car on full I just could not wait mate…had a blast at Rockingham one snowy afternoon last month, the car handled awesome, the turn in was brilliant have a good time, let me know what you think…My wife has just bought static lodge ( no calling it a caravan do you hear ) in N.Wales, I only said yes because it’s 40 mins from Anglesey

As John says the ARB on full stiff is great but if you are still getting used to the car & driving to and from the circuit you might find the front is too stiff, especially if it’s wet.

If I get rain I have to soften the front compression to get the car to turn in otherwise it just understeers off into the great wide open

does the Exige S have a motorsport ARB ?

if so full stiff anyway.


22/24 good place to start but you need to do this with a temp gauge not a pressure gauge

and it depends how many laps at a time you do, dont follow the sheep with tyre pressures get a temp gauge for �30 and set them up for YOUR car/ driving style etc.

i think you would find 20/22 to soft with the middle of the tyre not getting up to temp.

Settled on 27/28 hot.

Changed the ARB to full hard in the afternoon and preferred it.

I did get tyre squeal from front as a consequence of driver input and factory geo.
