As I have mentioned on my old thread, a friend of mine bought my S1 from me. He has since decided to go and race Clio Cup cars, so it is up for grabs again. Below is the original advert I wrote for it ages ago, but never got around to posting up.
Lotus S1 Exige race/track car project
The thoughts behind the car were based on doing what was necessary to make the car competitive in a series like GT Cup. We wanted the car to be able to run with GT3 type cars. It is also designed for 1 hour endurance racing, although it will be competitive in both shorter sprint races and longer endurance series.
The challenges we wanted to address were the Lotus’s lack of brakes, lack of tyre on the track and lack of tyre choice in the standard 16/17 wheel sizes. So this started with the car being designed from the ground up to take 18” wheels both front and rear. This gives the biggest choice of tyres available and an endless supply of suitable wheels in all kinds of widths, weights and costs. We based the sizes and offsets round BMW M3 sizes as motorsport and road wheels for these are obviously plentiful. Bigger wheels meant we could go with bigger brakes. Better for feel, ultimate stopping power and longevity over endurance length races
The bodywork was widened to accommodate the new wheels and allow the correct ride heights etc. The uprights and wishbone setup allow us to run the larger wheels at the correct ride height while maintain the correct wishbone angles.
The car has air jacks, fast re-fulers on both sides of the car and a 100ltr Pro Alloy baffled fuel tank, making the car ready for any kind of endurance race.
The car really has been put together as a money no object project. Everything on the car is the best that I could buy. From the loom and electrics, through the MOTEC ECU and PDM, the AP brakes and master cylinders, Ohlins suspension, AIM dash, Elise parts motorsport uprights, etc etc.
The car has been wired to carry a huge amount of monitoring sensors, including yaw control, DBW throttle and adjustable traction control. The MOTEC PDM allows a vast amount of controllability and functionality
The Engine is also a spec and money no object thing. It is based around a modified, bored Audi block, with a longer throw forged VW crank, uprated H section rods and forged 83mm pistons, with ported, port-matched head, solid lifters, uprated valves, springs and caps, the wildest cams, the best suited throttle body and inlet, to the work-of-art titanium exhaust system. This turbo and engine combination produced a lively, lag free 550bhp on another vehicle and is all brand new.
This really is the ultimate kit of parts to allow someone to put together what will be an awesome track day / race car.
I have put prices next to some of the items below to indicate what each component cost me – they are not parts which are being sold individually.

The price needs to be in the region of £35k
If you want any more details you can speak to me or James, who is the guy that now owns it.
