Hi guy’s, i have a VVC which im fitting an Emerald to. It’s the MEM’s 2j one with red and black plug.
First off, if anyone has or knows of the conversion data between a VVC and Emerald id love to see it and would even give beer tokens for it!
I have most of it wired but i have the following queries:
Camshaft timing control solenoid pins (A23 and A2), where should these go on the Emerald? To aux output drivers? seperate or wired together to a single switched earth output?
2.IACV, this has 4 pins in the red plug (B10, B15, B33, B34) is this the same, 4 seperate drivers from the Emerald that will be mapped suitably with the software?
3.Relay modules, does there need to be any connection to the relay module? 6 pins in the old plugs are connected to the module (A20, A22, A27, A30, A4, A28) A27 appears to be an ignition feed for the ECU (Emerald has one from A33 already), A4 and A28 appear to be to run the fan.
Injector’s 1 and 4 should be paired aswell as 2 and 3 to seperate injector drivers? (Rather than 4 individual drivers?)
dunno, can’t remember but I can look it up, on the K3 it can be configured to available pins 1,17,19,21 or 26
see wiring schematic below for IACV wiring
see wiring schematic below, only the main relay control is connected to pin 4, only other connection is 12v to pin 28, see below for fan connection
Yes.
To adapt VVC twin plug loom to single plug for M3DK
The injector wires for cylinders 1 & 4 from the red connector (pins 12 & 35) need to be joined and then wired to pin 24 of the M3DK connector. The injector wires for cylinders 2 & 3 from the red connector (pins 13 & 14) need to be joined and then wired to pin 23 of the M3DK connector.
Below is a list of the VVC loom connections that need to be moved to the new single plug.
RED connector pin number Description
31 Diagnostics line (not used)
17 Purge valve, move to M3DK connector pin 21
25 Crank sensor +, move to M3DK connector pin 31
26 Crank sensor -, move to M3DK connector pin 32
27 Oxygen sensor signal, move to M3DK connector pin 7
28 Oxygen sensor earth, move to M3DK connector pin 18
9 Black/white wire, Tacho output, move to M3DK connector pin
12
10 Orange/green wire, IACV, move to M3DK connector pin 22
15 Orange/blue wire, IACV, move to M3DK connector pin 27
33 Pink/blue wire, IACV, move to M3DK connector pin 2
34 Orange/grey wire, IACV, move to M3DK connector pin 3
BLACK connector pin number Description
22 Main relay control, move to M3DK connector pin 4
27 +12v power from main relay, move to M3DK connector pin 28
2 VVC control (see K3 documentation)
23 VVC control (see K3 documentation)
20 Oxygen sensor heater relay, move to M3DK connector pin 36
17 Immobilisor input, ignore if not required or move to M3DK
connector pin 13
30 Fuel pump relay, move to M3DK connector pin 20
33 Ignition sense, move to M3DK connector pin 11
21 ECU earth, move to M3DK connector pin 29
12 Throttle pot (signal), move to M3DK connector pin 8
18 Throttle pot (supply), move to M3DK connector pin 9
13 Sensor earth, move to M3DK connector pin 30
14 Air temp sensor, move to M3DK connector pin 16
10 Oil temp sensor (not used, remove)
15 Coolant temp sensor, move to M3DK connector pin 33
26 Ignition coil 2, move to M3DK connector pin 5
25 Ignition coil 1, move to M3DK connector pin 25
28 Blue/grey wire, Cooling fan relay control, move to M3DK pin 6
The wires/pins can easily be removed from the connector by pulling off the white plastic part (anti-backout plate) and then using a very small screw driver to lever the catch (down inside the connector) to one side (while gently pulling on the wire). It is a good idea to double check that the new loom plug is wired as described in the pin out table.
