Favour needed

Carrying on from my post regarding low profile car jacks, is anyone foolish enough to allow me to try their suspension modified S2 be it Nitrons or Ohlins at a trackday (I’m at Brands on the 25/6).
My next mod could be the suspension, but after 3 trackdays in my S2 I’m trying to balance the ‘need’ for it.
I’m loathed to spend 1500+ on a setup if I feel it is not for me.

I’m old
I’m slow
I’m fat

and a safe bet !

Anyone out there with big balls

More than good enough out the box atm Pete, spend some more time with it then change it.

If your planning to be at croft 5th July or Teeside 25th July I may be able to oblige (111R c/w Ohlins & A048’s).

Likewise I’ll be at Donny 7th July, Ohlins and AP’s just on, Geo tomorrow. Only issue is it may cost 50 as a third driver with BaT but I’ll have a word with Jonny see about a cost more suited for a quick blast!

Going to Brands on 3rd - evening and you’re welcome to come for a ride. Will be the second track day since I upgraded to a 2nd hand set of Ohlins - the difference is like night and day. Body control is on a different planet and the car feels much much faster. Not the cheapest mod in the world even with the lucky find of some used kit, but I can’t emphasise the difference enough - it shows how crap the standard dampers are for track use.

Fancy Snetterton on the 9th Pete?

Fancy Snetterton on the 9th Pete?

Cheers Will - your on //thumbs up//.

Thanks to the others for the offers //another thumbs up//

See you there then

Er hello Will, used the Ohlins today first time in anger…***king brillint. Set the car up bump and rebound as per service manual 240R (AR bar full hard). Had two quick sessions total dry conditions mid morning and the difference was huge. Really inpressed mate, also used the 4 pots for the first time as well today…

Shame about the rain

I took an Exige S owner around in my NA Exige with Nitrons at a Walshy Track day and within a few laps of the circuit he was sold.

I remember calling plans motorsport up about a year ago enquiring about the retro-fit Lotus S/C and the guy basically said “You realise you’ll be a lot faster around a track with decent suspension and brakes than outright horsepower”. So I basically bought some new discs/pads and then got a set of Nitrons and went to Bedford a few times last year. My car felt transformed, I was braking later and carrying more speed into corners and actually enjoying overtaking plenty of other cars that had more bhp than I did! The only thing you need more bhp for is when there is a long straight, that said if you exit the corner faster and carry more speed that does compensate.

Although I need more tuition big time, what he said!
