Factory-Visit + Hethel Trackday + Curry

This ^

looking forwards to the trackday tomorrow, not looking forwards to the time of day I need to be up!

Don’t want to rub it in but tour was great ( guided by Richard Paramint), curry pretty damn good, too. You were missed.

Yep missed all you guys indeed.

Enjoy!

We need pics!

Just back home. Great evening and day out. Superb to meet you guys.
Thanks to each of you who pulled this together, made the bookings, arranged the tour, and booked the curry.
And thanks to all of you for your warm welcome on my first exiges.com track day… Looking forward to the next one now.
Cheers Will

No pictures = it didn’t happen

Cracking fun on the test track, many thanks to all those who organised it.

Sorry I couldn’t stay longer, I was just beginning to enjoy myself!

I’d love to have done a full day and was hoping to return after the race but it started raining again at Snett so called it a day, would have only had another 30 minutes tops.

Apologies to they guy I promised a passenger ride, next time. Better still just get a Cup, they are genius!

I have some video which I’ll upload soon.

Gav that grey thing of yours (I’m assuming it was you) is bloody quick!

cheers

Jonny

Well that was a fun couple of days and great seeing everyone, new faces and old. Made up for missing Anglesey this year  Tour was very interesting, the guide very funny, the social bloody excellent and the track a little bit wet and a little bit dry. LOT do put on a good show, a credit to them and also Gav and Dave who’s cars are very much a credit to each of them too, totally superb! Strange circuit/test track Hethel, that bloody makeshift chicane is fricking horrible, hands up who hit it lol? Gav and Dave in particular were quick, very tasty in fact, both cars sounded awesome, as was the the sky blue S1 Honda Elise. Track Club were there for me all day, we think we’ve narrowed the oil leak down to the dip stick and I dropped the car into them on the way home, minus the keys because I’m bloody stupid. I hope everyone got home safe and sound.

Bring on Donny Tuesday

Also known as the driver…

 Great trip fellas!
Non stop entertainment from the moment I pulled up at the factory meeting Jonny & Rich, right the way through to packing the car up around 4pm after the track session

Very entertaining tour as mentioned, I love how our guide kept trying to round us up and move us along  , when really we could have spent all day in there by ourselves, (though we would have smuggled plenty out the door  )

Suitably long drinking session at the Holiday Inn, followed by a brief trip to the ye olde Kings Head, and then on to Spice “Paradise” hmm…, still the food and banter were both on good form

The track was great fun, and a real challenge, especially in the early hours of our day. And when it dried out, it was just a case of hanging on, and testing/stretching your abilities. Excellent.

JPS, no worries - hope your race went well

Great to meet new people, and see again those I’d met before. I’m looking forward to the next gathering already

Cheers Bomber,

I’ll post some video soon and will do my best to take you out for a few laps at the next one.

I’m always glad I went for the Cup after a track day, I was hoping for at least a tiny straight line advantage but couldn’t reel in Diego’s V6S on the straights but the nitrons offer great composure on the track. Whatever extra hardship you have on the road is paid back with interest on the track.

Did OK for my first ever race, ended up 9th. Crazy weather though, just as the track was starting to dry out the heavens opened again and it was like driving on ice with dry tyres. The winner came into the pits and changed to wets just at the right time. Good learning experience though which is what its all about for me. Won my class which sounds more impressive than it is, only one other finisher in my class! 10 DNFs!

hey chaps…what a well organised and disciplined day… good to meet you …

great day! thx to gav for the invite and heads up on getting some extra legroom lol…and all round top bloke too.

jonny, what a beaut in ms green! lets do another day and have a drive in my s no problem, you are far quicker than me at hethel lol, one thng i realised is the S is quite soft on track and a damp one at that compared to the cup. mind u, i need a balance as mines a daily in pothole central … but one things for sure… i can see tge potential of that car once i know a track and have a bit of track experience in it !!! f$$$me!!!

who was the chap in the yellow s1 exige? i wanted to pay hommage but didnt get the chance … lovely car …

The legend that is Thommo.

If you had caught him on track you could have just wound down your window and chatted on the way round   Thommo.

Hey Steve - please post your experience of Mr Donnelly getting behind the wheel of yer mota, you luck boy

Guys, thank you. You made me proud today with how everyone was behaved both on and off the track. As you probably noticed it wasn’t the usual td what with us being on the Lotus test track and lots of very close barriers around the edge of it. Apparently we didnt have a single spinner all day and the couple of reds thrown were only for minor stuff, a car recovery from trackside and later on to have the cones repositioned im pleased to say, everyone also abided the request from Lotus to keep away from certain areas around the circuit. It’s a rare treat to get on the test track and I have no doubts we would be able to organise another day for us sometime in the future off the back of how today went. Again, thank you all.

My other thanks go to Paul, Jamie and Jordan Golding and Pete from LoT for sorting the TDO cover for us, lunch and coffee supply, Also to Danny and Lisa Hartgrove, and Mr Donnelly from Lotus.

As always, nice to meet up with the new faces and catch up with the old, I trust you all had a great weekend. I know i did. The car ran well all day, just need to get it out again soon now. Donny just a bit too far im afraid John else id have been down and im busy busy week next, sorry mate. Great to see the car in action. Nice to see so many of the new V6’s in attendance also.

Easter then boys!

A win is a win, however it is done!

Tell me the extra leg room secret?? :sunglasses:

…and where are all the pics - I’ve seen a couple on FB which look great!!!

I would just like to say a big thankyou to everyone involved in organising this event, it was ace.
