Just had an email offering free cancellation of the premier inn, not going to take it yet, still hoping this will go ahead, but I have my doubts
eh we may all need that email. But my fingers are crossed and the 340R is in England getting prepared with Anglesey as the ready event.
It does seem odd that restaurants are told to close, but hotels are ok to continue to function and no doubt able to serve food to residents at least. I can’t see that continuing much longer sadly.
Yes it’s all very odd - logically I know a trackday is one of the safest things I could be doing whilst maintaining social distance but there’s still the “social acceptability” of the whole thing, this “Save the NHS” social media campaign is out to lynch anybody who dares to step outside their house and it would be hard to argue against.
There are a couple of trackdays on next weekend which I’m really, really wanting to book just to get some time in before the “real lockdown” comes. I fear I could be looking back in August time wishing I got SOME track time in this year but fingers crossed that our Anglesey day can go ahead. Wife isn’t sure it’s responsible, but I really don’t know what I think.
Anything at Blyton Fonzey? Might watch from afar
I would rather look back at what i missed than get this terrible virus!!!
Was looking to book with Mazda on Track next Saturday at Blyton but they’ve just cancelled it. MSV have also just announced all bike trackdays are off… I think anybody desperate for track time needs to be at a circuit tomorrow at the latest!
There’s a Cadwell on Friday with Circuitdays, might be my last chance but Wife might be talking me out of it based on words similar to…
The wife seriously just said “you’ll have to just buy some more car parts and spend the next few months in the garage instead”. Errrrr, can I have that in writing?!
Having see some coverage from front line NHS staff and the situation in Italy over the weekend, I’d question whether it is appropriate to be doing anything other than staying at home or working in a critical role. Trackdays, etc have to fall into the non essential camp. I hope things change before this event in May, but I think we can all see that is unlikely.
Great chance to get the garden looking its best for the long summer ahead instead.
Having thought about this a little more, I’ve decided that there is no way that I could justify travelling to Wales given the current situation, so even if this did still run, I’m afraid that I wont attend, and hence have cancelled. The year clearly isn’t going the way any of us would want.
I look forward to catching up with you all at an event in future once we get through this. Hope that you all stay safe and that the impact to you and your loved ones is as limited as possible.
Yeah, time to face hard facts.
While my team in China is back to 40 service visits a day and domestic travel by train and plane, the ROW is basically locked down for a good 3 months, probably more.
We have been warned that OZ maybe shut for 6 months … clearly no motorsport for a while.
Hope to see you at the next one - stay safe everyone
I must admit to feeling increasingly uncomfortable at the thought of attending this event if the UK is still in a similar position (let alone worse) to now. I have yet to cancel, but looking at the latest news from LoT it looks like it will be called off soon enough anyway.
Yep I think it’ll be taken out of our hands very soon. The circuits and TDO’s will all be coming under increasing social pressure to close their doors, hopefully the circuits do the right thing.
MSV have just cancelled things for 6 weeks :
Anglesey Circuit site saying postponements/cancellations are inevitable, but I didn’t notice any on the list. Regardless of that the accommodation will be an issue if not already. And has as been mentioned to me earlier, the curry house in Llangefni will be closed Don’t know about Enoch’s at Valley either.
Its looking grim folks
That’s a bugger. Resigned to missing my hol in Algarve but hoped that instead I could make up for disappointment by dropping in to Anglesey. Now it’s all off
Anglesey website not showing it is cancelled yet?
Have check is the prem inn will refund or only offer a ‘voucher’. Not worried about the track booking money - we’re going to get our day at some point this year
Gotta feel the wind on my helmet with the K roaring full pelt behind me
oh yes!
Will you be driving naked then Pierre
