I feel a bit guilty reading this having been offline a lot recently. Not just here but internet generally. For sure the place is quieter - not a surprise given the times we are in and the relatively focused nature of this forum. Being a long time admin/mod on a couple of other car oriented forums, can I suggest some points:

  • sharing the load on admin/mod to relieve the backlog of new members is absolutely necessary.
  • do not aim for volume at all costs - there’s a high quality quotient on here that should not be diluted.
  • have no qualms about ‘cliques’ - it goes with the territory. Some of you lot are co-located enough to meet up in real life so naturally the online banter will reflect that.
  • further to the above I have found very few places on the internet so forthcoming with helpful info so the value of this place is not to be underestimated.
  • do think about extending the reach to lesser known Exige variants like the Elise.
  • censorship is always a last resort.
  • engage the lurkers: who knows what they might have to offer.
  • upgrade the forum software - no offence but this place is so 1995 my iPad is showing signs of growing a mullet when I log in.

The other places I have been involved with, have also gone through somewhat of a nadir but managed to come out the other side in much better shape. Arguably in the face of bigger issues than what is facing this place. Combination of getting clear on what he future should look like, some technical upgrades, and agreeing on what is what on the forum and for real world engagements.

This place is a goldmine of experience and expertise, I’d hate to see it wither, I’m happy to help out in any way I can.

Yes absolutely ^^^ the two main first/last points raised have for me now, registrations and my phone goes straight to this site format now courtesy of the Boothmiester. As far as other variants, I can only point to Muu who started with an Elise but is in the process of having his car asimilated, so be careful… :open_mouth:
