…and yes Agas are for farmers Graeme
No seriously, it was as reliable as a regularly serviced K. You could pop up four a time all morning and not a single burn. Bread, bagels, crumpets, baps … I like baps!
…sorry, what’s happened with this thread, I had to go tend my sheep.
A man walks into the marital bedroom, his wife is in bed reading a book.
He has a sheep under his arm and pronounces " this is the pig I have to have sex with when you’ve got a headache".
His wife looks up and says " I think you’ll find ,Dear, that’s a sheep"
The man replies " I think you’ll find, Dear, I wasn’t talking to you"

Sorry i havent responded to this sooner, been away to Spa for the weekend and just got back.
I do have a login to the registation acceptance thingy but tbh, i dont really know what im doing with it.
I had a quick look at the process in place back when we got it but until now I have just left it to Damon who has pretty much done it all I believe (thanks Damon), but understand he has other things that needs his time now. Sean has not left us as such but is not so active so hes not going to be checking in every day or week and Im not sure how Dave feels about taking on the role by himself… My login would be better placed with someone who has a much better knowledge than I amd is just second nature to them if working with computers on a daily basis.
However… There is always going to come a point when whoever is doing it will not be able to find the time to do it for whatever reason and we will see this situation again no doubts a few times.
Ok, so my personal thoughts on this whole episode from when i first posted up this thread…
I think there was a fair bit of trepidation from some of the standing members in opening up the forum to more users when it was first suggested for many resons. I also like to think that most of those fears have been put to rest with the continued level the forum has maintained since it was opened up a little more to get people onboard. It would seem our self policing works and works well in that respect because ( as far as im aware) we havent had any trouble what so ever, its still exiges.com!
There has been an offer i beleive to help with the submissions from Stu on seloc which would eleviate the need for most of the human intervention in the process of accepting registrations. I think is probably the way forward in terms of peoples level of time commiment to it? I dont know, its still Davids puppy and he still has the reigns, its up to him what happens in that respect.
If your up this way through the week still Damon if you want to catch up one evening and go through the process with me over some grub im sure ill pick it up just so as to keep what we do have going running as smoothly as it possibly can???
Gav
It’s more interesting than verucca treatments.
all this talk of toasters makes me think of
Does Anyone Want Any Toast? | Red Dwarf | BBC - YouTube
Yeah but if you’d had to put money on which of us would have owned the powder blue one who’d you have gone for?
I’ll give it a go Gav, I’m on here once a day even when I say I’ll have a day off…it just drags me back in! As much as Stu’s offer is a very kind one, I get the feeling overall David wants it firmly under his own wing, could be wrong. Either way let me know, I’ll help out.
I don’t mind helping out either Gav as I am told by Christine I always have exiges.com on my laptop, ipad or phone.
So long as not too techie as I only own an IT company so know bugger about computers
Im happy to do the approvals, its very easy …
The difficult part is picking out the new members from the bots.
If new members email exiges dot com they will be approved in no time at all
I will keep my eye on this until im told otherwise…
If anyone know of people awaiting approval, either give me a nudge or get them to send in that email
Dave
We have ours set up to auto approve after a question is answered correctly
Spambot countermeasures on (in the user registration settings) and the plug in set to a Q&A with the questions and answers worded in such a way as to try to avoid bot registration… so far its worked great
That’s up to Davis its his site…
I am more than happy to carry on until someone says don’t bother.
There are lots of applications that maybe genuine but as the emails and names look dodgy I haven’t activated the accounts, hence the reason for email requests
So as I said earlier on please advise if someone needs ACTIVATING!! oh err
Great stuff Dave
It’s all good, just offering up another option
No it’s all good really and thank you
Cool
I’m still here. I had a clean up of all the spam a few days ago and i keep an eye on the e-mail inbox that ‘registees’ have to contact to let us know they have registered.
