Just wish there would been some dobble trackdays soon…
Never really understood why its always 1 day… Takes to much time/money to go for only 1 day… …
Why don’t you book yourself on a Walshy Day on the Friday, stay over in Essex on Friday night and then join the early morning convoy up the M1 on Saturday morning to tackle Donny with yer newly honed skills
Just realised it’s on Saturday therefore even AndyD’s employer won’t be able to schedule a meeting,…eh Andy
We’ll definately be having a beer/meal/whatever else in the evening - I suggest the Saturday night, rather than Friday night - is that okay with everyone/majority?
We can set to work on the “social side” at the end of Jan, once we know the numbers involved!!!
Count me in for this too .
My head was definately not in good shape at Croft after the beers the previous evening .

Yeah I deffo think the night after the track day is the way to go for the beers. I’m sure the reason I couldn’t focus on the 2nd of those 3rd gear right handers at Croft was because I still had a bit too much “fluid on the brain”, so to speak.
What ever hotel we all stay at, we should get a projector and screen set up so that the people that have done in car videoing can show there footage. I think that would be cool, for a bit of banter over a few after dinner beers.
I should have made it clear in my original post, that these days are “inclusive”, & are intended for the enjoyment of all Exigers, whether track day novices, or indeed trackday junkies. The first half an hour or so, will be set aside for beginners, & those who are not already familiar with Donington. Tracksport Instructors will be available (free of charge) to help anyone who asks, to learn about track driving in general, & of course Donington in particular. A session with an instructor would normally be for about 15mins, & depending upon availability, you can have as many sessions as you want. There will be loads of Exigers happy to give passenger rides, or indeed help with some instruction, so everyone should feel comfortable whilst out on track, & really enjoy the day to the full.
For those who have not yet ventured on track, it is worth mentioning the following. There are rules about track driving/etiquette (which are constantly monitored during the day, by marshalls), & these will be explained in full at a briefing to be attended by all participants, before going out on track. For example, Trackdays are strictly non competitive, with no timing allowed, & overtaking can only be carried out on the left hand side of the car in front, & then, only with that driver’s consent (ie by indicating to be overtaken). The marshalls operate a simple system of flag waving to warn drivers of incidents/potential hazards, & again the various flag signals are explained at the briefing.
Those who have previously attended our days will already know that the plan is very definately to enjoy the social interaction, just as much as the driving.
So, in a nutshell, this will be a great opportunity for those who have not so far been on track, to do so in a friendly, & supportive environment with like minded peeps

I have a projector that i don’t mind bringing.

thats an excellent idea …
Would your floor have room for a couple of sleeping bags on the Friday night ? and fcku the bleary eyes but you must have few tips about where to go for a beer on a Friday as well…
Yeah, I’m about a half hour from Donnington (45 mins with the van and the trailer). I don’t mind a few sleeping bags on my living room floor the night before. I have secure parking for a good few cars as well. Although I think Pesky is already on the case for the night before and night afters entertainment.
Is this the price per car? Steve and I both drive the car on trackdays.
Also (assuming we haven’t moved south of Birmingham by then) we live 20 minutes away from Donington and have 2 spare double beds and plenty of floor space if anyone wants somewhere to kip.
250 for the thrill an Exige provides on track is peanuts, it really is one of life’s great experiences. My only discomfort is if something goes wrong early in the day, that’s a lot to kiss goodbye to. I’d also like a weather guarantee for that price too!
The noise limit at Donny always really bugs me! It’s in a natural ‘bowl’ in the landscape, pretty far from housing and with 747s COMING INTO LAND 500 FEET ABOVE!!!
Provided the day is booked, & deposit paid by 27th Jan, there is no charge for ONE additional driver per car. Thereafter, the normal charge of 35 will apply.
I suggest that we have the “formal” meal etc on Saturday evening, leaving the Friday night open for peeps to chose whether to meet up… or even have an early night’s kip
I’m going to book tomorrow
also have a spare room with a double bed and 2 camper beds if anyone wants to stay over, I live 35 minutes from Donnington just off exit 18 of the M1
