I’m trying to gather some information on S2 exige owners with track pack and whether they have experienced extreme rear tire wear.
I’ve got an exige here in the states and me and several others have experienced this. We have found that there seems to be alignment issues and we’ve found a pattern of exiges w/track pack to have this problem.
here is a link to elisetalk where i’ve posted pictures of my tires and also have links to other members as well. I would appreciate any information.
That is not anything more than running the rear pressures too high. Ignore factory settings you should be running them a lot lower (factor settings are around 29psi I run 21psi set cold) If you leave them at 29psi you will end up running 35psi once the tyres are hot.
although recommended tire pressures are wrong and that should be a reason alone… but we don’t see that as the case… although it may contribute… the alignment having way to much toe is also a contributing factor…
after my re-alignment, my car is running a lot more smoother

may i ask if you have the track pack, if so, how many miles do you have on your exige?
But several of us have had our cars aligned to find that they’ve got ridiculously excessive rear toe. This does seem to be specific to the fed cars that got the OEM adjustable Bilsteins (our track pack option).

I have the Performance pack which was around prior to the current packs. I then bought Ohlins etc and had a full set-up done.
From the pics it looks like it is wearing in the centre of the tyre that is over inflation. If you also have excessive wear on the inside or outside of the tyre then it could be the settings.
i’m with jamie here… you are running way too much tyre pressure. The alignment won’t help but your ambient and tarmac temperatures will be way higher than we have here in Scotland and 29psi cold is too high for A048’s on an exige running up and down the ‘street’. My S1 running 26psi wore the centres and now I 'm running around 20-23psi cold and the wear is even. In line with what jamie runs on his S2 (in Scotland!!) I think you should try 20psi at rears and get OFF the freeway’s
I’m not fully up to speed on bluejae’s case, although we’ve chatted a bit about Lotus’s response. In my case, the centers wore more due to too high of a pressure but they wore out so soon due to the car being delivered with 2 degrees of toe on both sides. I had a nice bit of feathering on the treadblocks to show for it - looked a bit like the front wheel on a sportbike that’s been pushed hard at the track.
The cold pressures Lotus recommends are certainly too high.
bluejae has certainly been getting the run-around from Lotus US regarding it and his toe is out, although not to the degree that mine was.
Several track pack equipped cars have gone in for service and discovered the rear toe was excessive. We Yanks are starting to think that maybe there’s something about the production line/installation contributing to it as non-track pack cars don’t seem to show up here with the same issue.

i don’t know what the performance package consists of… does it include the same things as the track pack? including the A048s and the bilsteins?
i have the Track pack on my Exige S (its super sports over here)
My rear wear seems good, i have 7500km and they look like they will get to 10,000km I only had it on track once up to now which i had to cut short coz the brakes are not up to it.
Interestingly i am running the Lotus recomended settings, which i dropped by 0.3 bar for the track, this gave me 29psi hot.
