This is a sign of age, but I know Andy Priaulx, from when he used to come hill climbing , he started in a Caterham 7 , and used to travel from the Channel Islands every other w/e with his Mum & Dad & girlfriend in the family MotorHome .
He migrated to single seater’s , won the Hillclimb Championship , then went racing , he lived in his fathers MotorHome in the paddock at Silverstone in the week, & when he wasn’t racing he worked as an Instructor at Silverstone.
That’s what you call commitment , happy ending , he married his long time girlfriend , bought a house in the Channel islands , and fly’s himself to German race meetings!
Nice , grounded young man , who still keeps in touch. 
Dont think much of his current drive
He’d probably even pedal that,quicker than average humans
