So the lotus have developed a character trait or fault as they are known in Renault parlance.
When I turn off the car sometimes it stays ignition live, sometime not.
Its a good game.
However, I have left the negative terminal on the battery finger tight and take off the wire if it wont go off.

Booked in for a nitron rebuild in a couple of weeks and some general housekeeping. Ill ask them to look at it then.

I use RS Tuning based in Leeds for my spannering and they are going back to Nitron for the refurb
I have the car away now to have a few things attended to ;
Slight oil weep. Not a clue where itâs coming from but I know where itâs not coming from.
Nitrons are being removed and rebuilt
Dipstick is being relocated as itâs a bastard to get out.
Earths are being checked.
Iâll get the geo done as wellâŚ
I think I might fit a oil breather system from pro alloy and then it shall be complete.
It will never be complete, you need an Aim race dash and more carbon, then another 50hp, did I say bigger brakes? Have you rose jointed the suspension? It Never stops!
The suspension did interest me. Please stop!
The power I can live with for now. I was thinking K20a+supercharger but not sure I can justify the expense for another 120bhp, or can I?

Andy, to be honest, if you are around 300hp leave well alone, add lightness I found the changes become more dramatic, instead of the car being faster in a straight line, the car is faster everywhere
That is my thought process at the minute.
Straights are ok , bends are what I need to focus on. I guess having the nitrons rebuilt will help, then we can look at rosejoints and all the other good stuff including driver training.
Weight is a massive enemy of the S2 Exige, low torque and a high centre of gravity doesnât help. Hence my path to carbon fibre everything, and yes lots of driver training, my end realisation, was the car was way better and faster than I would ever be
Nitron just called. Looks like I am going to have to put some new springs on as well due to corrosion.
I knew I should have bought a new S2 âŚ

I now have a reassuringly large bill for a nitron rebuild , with new springs and helper springs.

The coilovers have been refurbished and 4 new springs plus helpers purchased.
Sadly I have broken and had an op to remove my submandibular gland in my neck. This means I cant drive at the moment. So I cant collect my car. Really missing the exige TBH.
It will be going for a full alignment when I get it back then planning on Anglesey in 2020 and Blyton. I would like to do Donnington this year as well.
