Exige S2 Upgrade

I want to upgrade my Exige so it sounds a bit nicer, have decided on a Lotus Stage 1 exhaust and an induction kit, so questions.

  1. Does anyone know of an induction kit other than the ITG one, 375+ seems a tad expensive for what is essentially a filter and a carbon flowerpot. Reverie have the “Daytona” at 320, any good?

  2. How much should I expect the Stage 1 to cost incl fitting and VAT, I have seen various prices from 300-500, what is reasonable?

thanks
Bob

No answer for…but thinking same thing on Exhaust myself. Suspect Stage 2 will be a bit OTT for a daily driver…but interested in hearing a Stage 1…or a BlueFlame.

So…er…once you chose…can I have a listen?

Ha ha knew it was a bit quiet for ye…

“I’ll be the only Stage 1 in the village!”

Didn’t RobertWestling do this recently? Try a search.

Ahh yes, cheers IDG! Found it here:

for anyone else interested. It happened whilst I was away getting hitched , that’s why I missed it.

Rob, if your listening, can you post some close ups of the exhaust? Pretty please?

Also have a look here, are the Stage 1 & 2 thesame as the UK ones? 'Cos the Stage 2 certainly looks a bit different…?

Oh and anyone should be shot for ordering bronze!!!

Stage 2 over here is very different the the one shown on the US site - still 2 pipes, but angled and flush with car…looks better than Stage 1 IMO

I’ve got the Stage 2 exhaust on mine and find it OK for everyday driving (but then I’d done 20,000 everyday driving miles in my much louder S1 up to a month ago so I may not be the best person to ask!)

I find the stage 2 fine for everyday use too

The difference between standard and Stage 1 is not that significant. The Stage 2 is fine, honest - I just drove right across Europe in mine and it was not a problem.

My dealer fitted the Stage 2 and Pipercross Viper for nowt when I bought the car.

Peter Smith told me they couldn’t fit any induction kit as this would invalidate the warranty…

stage 2 here aswell, absolutley fine for daily commuting, awsome noise and not distracting or droney at all in my opinion!

xman, “you lucky lucky bastard!”

The dealer fit Viper kit does not affect the warranty.

I was offered a grand off the price of the car when I ordered it, or free goodies to that value. I went for the Stage 2 Exhaust, Pipercross Viper, Full carpets and some other odds and sods.

Bit of an aside, but did you get the full carpet set in a non touring spec car, and if so what would this cost normally?

Thanks,
Mark

Yep, I specified the Exige with Performance Pack, but requested that they fit the full carpet set.

They had to remove the seats anyway to fit the harnesses, so it wasn’t a problem.

I think the set cost 140 quid to buy. I’ve no idea what retro-fitting would cost.

But as mentioned - I got the kit and fitting as part of the deal!
