Exige S2 Boot lid, water pours out of lock

Since its been raining as of late I noticed that when I open my boot lid loads of water pours out of the lid where the locking mecahnism is. This is more annoying as the water goes directly into the boot.

I’m guessing the boot lid is filling with water when it shouldnt be? Anyone know about this and if its an easy fix. Guess I’ll take it to Bell & Covill and speak to them?

Not sure where you mean, pictures?

The water is coming out of the metal catch where the arrow points. I’m wondering if the boot lid is filling with water then when the boot is opened it runs out of here.

Water injection will give you more power!

NICE intercooler BTW.

That is because it is mine

Not sure how the water can be coming out of there, seems an odd place.

Sorry, easier (well I thought it would be) to find a picture from the net than go outside and take one. What I realised is that my drive is at a slight incline and I park nose up so I guess the water is getting into the boot lid somehow and not draining out until I open it.

Not sure what you are sorry for, that picture along with loads of others of my car are everywhere on the net

You still should not get water from there even if you car is parked on an incline

It has been suggested on Seloc that where that lock is fitted is a drainage hole and therefore is used to drain water out? If this is the case then due to the angle I park then this hole wont do anything until the lid is opened.

It seems I’m not the only person who is getting this but also seems a lot of people dont.

I get this exact problem, never got around to investigating the issue further what i do is open the boot slowly and then all the water drops out into the drainage bit of the boot aas opening it fast makes all the water drop into the boot.

Yeah, my exact thoughts however, due to my slight inclined drive even opening it slowly the water goes into the boot, must just be a great enough angle to cause this.

just found this for the first time too! Difference is on my drive it was sitting slightly nose down, but as typical, the one night its out of the garage we had a LOT of rain last night and when i opened the boot lid a fair amount of water came out of the catch area :frowning:
