I’m the owner of a S1 exige (RHD) and would buy second set of wheels to put wet tire or slick on. So it’s not easy to find set of ‘EOM’ wheels in 2nd hand. Generally lts oem wheels, which are for sale, don’t often comes with a fair price, they are expensive compared to second hand of brands.
I’m wondering if the Hubentric Adaptors S1 are really a good option if i want to put a new set on my car.
here is the Marketing txt of the product.
They have the ability to convert 95.25PCD hubs to the most common PCD 4 x 100 PCD. the supplied unit is 25mm thick so is ideal to use with the common 37/35eT (offset) as most aftermarket wheels are normally a 35mm or 37mm offset these will reduce the offset to the ideal Lotus configuration.
If i change the ‘ET’ and the offset, do you think that Behavior of the car will change or it’ll be the same.
IS THERE SOMEBODY THAT CAN HELP ME AND GIVE ME INFO (POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE)

I don’t know the answer to this, but using my little bit of knowledge i would say there should be non or very little difference as long as you run the correct wheel off set with the spacers and then remove the spacers when running your standard wheels (which you would have to do because they won’t fit).
“if i change the ‘ET’ and the offset”
The ET is the offset.
If the aftermarket wheels come with an offset of 35 and the spacer reduces this back to a similar Lotus S1 offset then is the S1 offset 10 (i dont know i’ve got an S2)
Mike
I seam to remember being told the reason for a bigger poitive offset was to reduce bump steer, because i always liked the look of deep dish wheels (ie negative offset)
So with that in mind the aftermarket wheels with spacers should be better the the standard wheels ( open for debate)
I think most aftermarket wheels come with a positive offset rather than the nice looking negative.
If you used these 25mm spacers you would need ET32 fronts and ET30 rear wheels just to maintain the same overall offset as the standard wheels.
Bigger offsets than ET32/30 will just bury the wheels further back into the arches and you don’t get too much room to play with at the rear before there’s a chance of the tyre flexing and then rubbing the chassis. I would say 5mm more than standard at the rear as an absolute maximum, as I used to run the ET12 (7mm more than standard) Speedlines on the rear and the tyres ‘just’ started to eat away at the inner vertical face of the plastic arch liners. A 3mm spacer cured this, meaning the wheel was effectively ET9.
Changing the offset too much at the front can give more kickback on the steering, but this will only increase relative to the change in offset. A large change at the front can lead to issues on full steering lock with chassis rub with too much increased offset or wheel arch rub with too much reduced offset.
S2 wheels would therefore be ok on the front with the 25mm spacers, but not the rear. (ET31.3 front and ET38 rear).
Although geometry and bump steer etc shouldn’t be affected with just a change in offset, I would check everything if you do end up changing it.
By the way Fat_BBB No more apologising for bad english either as you’re posts are fine.
Pesky marks all my post with his red pen and I never get it all correct.

hello Azrael, back to u late.
… and thanks for explanation about this subject. It was a little confused in my head, i often try to get good things for my car and before buying it, i always look at positive and negative things that can happen if i change something from the standard. I know that the exige is fantastic on a circuit and don’t want to change the grip of it due to a change like this. SO i don’t know how to do for now. I’m wondering if it’ll be better to put a set of team dynamics, or compomotive or speedline… difficult to choose !!
i wanted to buy cheap wheels in 4x100 (about 85 / wheel) but as i read your comments, i’m not sure to find wheel with ET 30 or 32. So i will ask dealers to know ET and will
many thanks for your reply, and apologise for my impatience about reply.
Merry christams to all.
