Exige s1 restart, after 5 months

Sadly (fortunately) my job needed much more attention than past summers and my lovely Exi s1 has been stuck in my box for 5 months ! Never happened before…other than some cat fur inside ( :imp: lucky cat to avoid my eyes), I’m now wondering about the procedure to restart the engine.

I think after 5 months the engine is completely dry and it would be nice to let the oil start, before the first complete ignition.

Can you help me?
I was thinking about 2 different ways:

  • disconnect the inertia switch
  • disconnect the fuel pump fuse

But…where are them?
I remember the first one on my old Elise s1, on the left side of the engine bay. But I didn’t find it there on my Exi.
Fuel pump fuse. Is it inside the fuse box on the front bonnet?

THANKS GUYS ! !

The fuel pump fuse is located behind the seats on the bulkhead:

I encourage you to get yourself a copy of the Elise workshop manual. It is quite easy to read and well illustrated (see drawing above).
And the best thing: you can download it from various places in the net for free, like here:

The Exige section is added as an extra chapter at the end of the Elise sections.

Klaus

Before you turn the engine, remove the spark plugs and spray a small amount of warm engine oil into each cylinder. Leave it for 5 minutes to allow it to run down the bores so when the pistons come up they’re not running dry.

Many thanks guys!!
The Exi is still alive and my mouth still smile when driving it !!

Thanks for your support !

Excellent news! Enjoy a fabulous car!!
