Exige S1 from the Netherlands

Hi i am Mark.
I live in the Netherlands.
Since my younger years a am a fan of Lotus.
My cousin drives a Lotus Elise from 1999 till now.
After a couple of years of saving money the time is near te buy a Lotus myself.
Now i am exploring what to buy, thats why i came to this forum and hope to find the answer here.
I think i want a Exige above a Elise.
i’m looking to meet some guys in the Netherlands with a Exige to talk about the car so i know what exige to buy
.
My everyday car is a Twingo RS.Here is a pic.

Hello bud!

That little Twingo is the spiritual successor to the 106GTi I had back in the day, cracking little cars both of 'em.

Good luck getting into an Exige and take your time acclimatising, FWD hot hatch is a different discipline to RWD mid-engine!!

As above makes sense. Just get used to the girl and her different characteristics without patronising you at all!

Welcome along.

Thanks for the welcome words.
First i have to make a decision about what exige i buy.
If i bought one then i’m gonna take my time to get to know her… :astonished:

Found one and she is mine.
It’s a titanium S1 Exige!

Well done Mark, I’m pretty sure you won’t look back. Post some pics when you get a moment and your initial thoughts, history of the car etc…

Quick one picture of my beauty.

very nice!

Today i installed my rearclam protection wich i made myself because i am still waiting for the original by Lotus.

Hoi,

Waar woon jij?

Ik in Veghel. Heb een Exige S2 240 Cup, esprit JPS en Caterham R400…
Kom maar een keertje rijden.

Groeten,

A few weeks ago i started cleaning the bottom of my exige.
I jacked up the car and put some wooden block beneat the wheel so i could crawl under the car.
The bottom was not that dirty but want to keep the Exige as new.

Because the tape around the headlight cover was losening i took the old tape off and sticked some new tape on.
The old tape was some kind of titanium metallic tape and the new tape is black.
In my oppurtunity black tape as surrounding looks very good.

Just like mine!

Good job done. Keep us posted.

Couple of weeks ago i was busy changing the seats from left to right.
I’ve done this to get an even worn on the fabric.
Because the weather was fine i also had the change to drive the whole weekend and get to know the car.
What an amazing car it is!

Wow that is dedication,…swapping the seats to even up wear.

Great news that you’re enjoying the car. You gonna come say hello when we’re at Spa in July…don’t expect even seat wear though!!

Wowww…nice job, just wonder when you swap the seats, i guess you have to take the roof off too right?

No, the seats will come out with the roof in place.
