exige s induction or stick with trd...

As much as im happy with the trd airbox, the filter is manky after a few months of weekend driving and cant be bothered replacing it a couple of times a year.(also it would be nice to access the filter easier through the engine bay rather than a wheel off job)

Im possibly looking at either the pipercross vis or k+n apollo, but is it possible these might make the car run lean?,its running about 250bhp through re-map,injectors and fuel pump upgrades, thanks

I would have thought that as long as the air flow sensor is retained correctly the ECU will manage the mixture and should not run lean as a result of higher air flow. The Cup TRD airbox has a high flow rate anyway, so I’m not sure how much more flow if any you’ll get with alternative induction kits

You seem to hear mixed feedback re the running lean, one thing I do know is stay clear of the VIS unless you like it really loud! The Apollo is the one I would go for

i have the pipercross vis kit, omg it makes a huge difference, i would agree with noise however that is only when you put your foot down, mine is the exige s running about 280 bhp, its so nice you can hear the supercharger now. would go for pipercross i cant praise it enough, where abouts you from you can hear mine if your near by first

Blimey never even checked mine to see if it is dirty, I will check it this weekend as it has been in for about 5k miles or so. As for other systems, MAF setup is the item to watch for, diameter of tube and position in relation to airflow, if it is the same as standard it should read the correct amount of air so there will be no problems.

cheers nitro, was working at lakeside last night actually but back up in lincs now.

Its a difficult one to call as i want be able to clean/oil the filter whenever necessary but dont want to cause any airflow probs as its running very nicely at the moment

Best not to oil the filters as it is not good for the MAF sensor :frowning:

Absolutely spot on. The VXRs came with oiled filters and it caused no end of problems. I went through at least 5 sensors in the time I had mine (30,000 miles and 2 years). Even after changing filters I had one go due to the residue the original filter left behind.
