Nice
I always cringe going through them - feels like the car is being destroyed!
Howd it compare to the evo behind you?
Try it on a motorbike (you may have?) and it feels as though your spine/neck is being destroyed!!
Hoping to get my S over there some time this year - I absolutely love it, but I am terrified of it at the same time!!
The thing I find amazing are the times quoted for performance cars, of say 7.5 minutes for a flying lap, whereas the best I could manage on my Ducati was an 8:45 BTG and that included a 153mph entry speed (datalogger) to Schwedenkreus (sp)! You have to add at least 30 seconds to get a flying lap time.
My crowning glory was punting my A3 diesel round in the wet, on nearly illegal tyres, in a Clarkson beating 9:58 BTG - what a laugh!.

Some guy did a 7.25 on Aprilia.
You have to know the track 100% and have balls the size of footballs to go that quick on a bike there. If you get it wrong in a car there, even on a flying lap, you are going to live 99% of the time. On a bike any error is going to really hurt big style.

Also, I guess that is the difference between a racing driver who really knows the place on a closed track and us turning up on a public day on our bike. Just a thought.

DSE - You are absolutely right of course, it is all about familiarity.
I met the guy that “Fast Bikes” call the Red Baron, last time I was there - he does the 7.29’s BTG etc on virtually any bike over 750cc that they give him.
He reckoned the key to a fast lap there is all about corner entry speed - which is very daunting as most corners are blind, crested, off camber etc etc - it was after my chat with him that I posted the 153mph entry speed to Schwedenkreus - he told me his R1 was showing 178mph at the same point!!!
He passed me a few times on track and I could see what he means, he is unbelievably fast!

He’s fooking mad, thats what he is
Lap times of the 'ring are getting very confusing as well because some people quote “bridge to gantry” and others quote full laps. Its not always clear which is which.
Still its the best track in the world and I cant wait for my next trip out there.
You guys are a damn sight braver than me - I wouldn’t drive there on a public day under any circumstances. Seen to too many videos showing dangerous driving, & of course your normal road insurance isn’t valid there either.
But enjoy yourselves, & let’s see some vids when you get back.
