Sorry to here this Boothy, im sure the solution from Peter will work.
I also think your right in that the shoddy way the 2 strut boot lids fit means you get away with this. I have just physically pushed down on my lid to test and it would rub if the boot was fitted tighter.
I try not too I do however seem to end up working most Saturdays
How many bloody boilers have they got at the Trafford Centre then?
Thats no way to talk about his beloved Steph. As for servicing, over to Boothy
The new intercooler is looking well! Personally i would be tempted to get a couple of small peices of rubber to stick to the under side of the boot lid to stop any rubbing/knocking in the future, even with the new bushes.

Well Peter at Forge has supplied a new fitting kit, very quickly, it arrived on Tuesday! However the Royal Mail seem to think that people will be in at 11:50am so I collected it yesterday.
We fitted it last night and first impressions are it will do the job, not had chance to test the car yet but as soon as I do I will keep you all posted
It does look fantastic though Have to say I am really happy with the service off Forge, really cant fault them!
Very good news! Do you have any pictures of the new rubbers installed? Does Peter look for a solution to fix the issue with the stock strut?
Hi guys,
Well its been on about a week now and I have had a chance to have a good drive about in it so thought I would update you.
I am not 100% with the new rubbers as they are a smaller diameter as well as in height and they have too much give in them. I found this out as the car developed a squeak under load on investigation I found that I could rock the cooler back and forth on the left side and this caused the noise. They do however give enough clearance from the bootlid so I have come up with my own plan
I have bought some 3/4 Tap washers and have ordered some M8 x 40 stainless steel bolts. I am going the try either three or four tap washers in height (three if I can get away with it) these are much firmer rubber and should allow for a good firm fix whilst not being totally solid.
I’ll let you know how I go
As for the drive, first thing I noticed is the car sounds different, cant really explain it, just the supercharger has a slightly different note maybe a little more purposeful.
In terms of performance, well I think it has made a difference, it feels like my car but on pro plus, thats the best way I can discribe it It just seems to perform how I know it can, all of the time.
Am I happy? yes, I am very happy, sorting out the rubbers is just minor and well worth it considering how the car feels.
Boothy
Glad you have got the bootlid issue sorted, and that you are pleased with it. Mine does have a slight squeak so i may have a check to see if its coming from the same area.

Having used mine extensively for the past couple of months I can also say that:
The car sounds different… puzzling me this one is , my sound seems softer in note … less rorty somehow…
I,ve been sat in long traffic jams allowing temps to rise…on flooring it away from the jams I was amazed at the dirrerence to the old Std cooler… Wow , the power is 100 percent there right away… No argument here , a “marked” difference !
With the retarded settings from the ECU with a hot standard cooler I would guess 40 BHP was taken away till temps were back down… The old cooler really was that bad
Absolutely thrilled with mine…
When funds allow more mods will follow…
I have also got the large roof scoop on now. Cheers Jamssint
Ps. What a swine Chrome Orange is to paint/match !
It’s a 20 coat process and I had to paint it 3 times to get a good match … Yup thats 60 coats of paint !!!
I have also got the large roof scoop on now. Cheers Jamssint
Let’s see…must be looking with the windows done too matey!

Dude …Maybe a tad too cool that picture mate
Ooh, I like the look of that Forge I/C - it looks the kind of job even a spannering fool like me can carry out unaided?
Any “educated guesses” on typical power gains, linked to say just a Larini back box?
JFK, when you say “a marked difference”, is that across all operating conditions, or just after you have been heat soaking in traffic?
BTW - Would this count as a “modification” when talking to your insurers?
Finger hovering above the “order now” key as we speak!
BTW - Would this count as a “modification” when talking to your insurers?
Yes - if you are with a specialist it shouldn’t be too much, if you are with a normal run of the mill insurer be prepared for them not to know what the hell you are talking about

Just after the heatsoaking in traffic…
If there is a difference in overall power then it’s quite small… There probably is !
I,ve fitted mine because I have plans to up the boost later on etc.
Cheers both, probably a bit too expensive as a mere “tinkering” excercise, unless you are going to take it further in the future, as you intend to?
Here’s an update on my cooling project that has been happening over the last couple of months :
First mod was to fit a Forge Motorsport cooler…
This eliminated my heatsoaking but I didn’t notice an increase in power.
Second mod was to fit a bigger roof scoop in front of the existing standard scoop…
This looks good and I think makes the car look more aggressive.
Again I didn’t notice any power increase.
Third mod was to do as Boothy has done here…
Easy to do and cost free, took about an hour.
“BLOODY HELL” there is a very marked increase in power and gone are the holes in the throttle response…
I kid you not, the engine also sounds very different!
Now my “s” is turning into the quick car I always knew it should be .
Go dremel your slots boys… what a difference
Ps. other mods Ive done:
Trd airbox and filter
Lotus stage 3 exhaust.
I will probably be doing the dremel job sometime in the future but at the moment I’ve got a problem that no one else has mentioned.
The rubber that is jubilee clipped from the roof scoop to the intercooler is always coming off! Has anyone else had this and how have they sorted it?
Thanks

There is a Lotus fix which should be done under warranty where they put reinforcing rings inside the plastic ducts so the jubilee clips have something rigid to work against. I would guess you car is relatively early so don’t know how the warranty will work out.

Thats interesting I obviously did both of mine at the same time and as I said I could feel an obvious difference, I think that coupled with the Forge intercooler its a very worthwhile mod!
I am going to have a crack at refitting the cooler tonight or tomorrow, Peter has kindly sent me some solid stainless mounts, I also have tap washers, I am going to play with the two and let you know which way I go
Don’t forget I’ve got around 4 times the area to allow air in too (the bigger scoop).
