Just been reading about the limiting factor of high power Exige S applications, the gearbox. From speaking to Ade I gather it will only be a matter of time (weeks, days even !?) before my gearbox committs hurri kurri. Has anyone considered sticking the MR2 Turbo gearbox in and maybe using a transmission adapter kit like this one?

Ade - Whats your plans with your gearbox?
Well you are in a tough place, I never said how long it would last, but at 300hp mine failed after 6 months of near only track us.
The MR2 gearbox IMHO is only suited to a turbo big power upgrade, the ratios are just wrong for a SC car with no torque.
My gearbox will be getting built once Jubu racing has more stock of the stronger 3rd and 4th gears, then I will get the new LSD installed. The gearbox will then be fitted along with the laminova based oil cooler.
I am hoping this will fix the gearbox for track use and 300ish hp, but only testing will tell…
Do you plan on tracking your car a lot then?
Bugger, didnt realise that the MR2 option was more suited towards turbo’d engines…looks like I’ll be watching (and hoping) that your stronger rebuilt gearbox will live a long and prosperous life!
Yeah the track is calling, especially with the state of the UK’s roads after the shite weather we’ve had. The car’s just too good to be wasted sitting in traffic jams and duelling with white van man everyday - it needs a smooth wide circuit.
