Further to my post about the 3000 RPM on start-up, has anyone here just had the straight forward Lotus ‘re-flash’ of their ECU?
I spoke to Paul at CN’s last week and he said the ‘latest’ standard 220 ECU is quite a bit different to the first ones out! I really want to get rid of this high RPM on a stone cold oil drained engine!
Dont really want to go down the full 260BHP ‘upgrade’ but just want a simple map, perhaps with the lower cam change as well.
surprised cn’s didnt mention it, they have been running the lower cam change new re-map at 150 offer for last 6/7 months. it goes back to lotus to be done i understand to is “legit”
Never really thought about it on mine to be honest - after having a Civic Type-R and an S2000 which both warm their engines up at 2000rpm+ I thought the exige was fine.
it is a new based line firmware map they stick on the ECU, lots of people had it done, it also removed a bit of the occasional stalling when pulling up
Frosts in Hove did mine at the Annual service (still under warranty). I didn’t notice any changes but apparently it irons out one or two issues that have come up.
They do the re programming for one or two other local ‘Lotus specialists’ who don’t have reprogramming facilities.
Is CNs a fully paid up Lotus dealer, or a dealer ‘specialising in Lotus’?
I would like to be able to get my car around Donny properly first… at present I am not getting everything out of it with the driver being the limitation… not the lack of power!
So, bucks more important spent on some quality driving tuition! That should improve my lap times much more than an extra 50 BHP.
Only when I have done all I can do will the bank of SWMBO consider releasing some further funds!
