Exige S - 7k miles out of a set of rear Advans

I thought this was pretty good myself. (perhaps Im not trying hard enough! They are nearing the wear limiters.

So where is the best place (in or near Yorkshire) that’ll do the best price? Also does the Exige S have a different tyre rating to the standard Exige? Or are they all the same?

Cheers
Dan

Recent experience has surprisingly revealed that actually going to a lotus dealer and having them fitted while you wait was about the same price as shipping them from bookatrack or hangar111 and then p!ssing around getting them fitted locally.

7k miles is a good effort!
remember the wear marker is 2mm so even if you hit it you still have a bit of legal life left. Although thinking about it with winter coming it might be better to not take the risk.
Have you considered non LTS spec tyres, unless you race is it impossible IMHO to tell the difference. Or perhaps r888s as they are better in the wet and not much different in the dry?!

my mate who is an S1 exige owner had suggested r888’s. I might take a look at them, although I wanted to avoid changing the full set, which would mean mixed tyres front and rear otherwise. thanks for the advice guys. I’ll phone the local dealer and find out a price. Ta Dan

Exige S…

So probably in warranty still? I would recomend using the lts yokos or they will void any wanrrnty claims against suspenion items etc…

Anyone got links for the Advans and r888’s for S2 Exige?

Do a Bookatrack day at Elvington - see the old tyres off in style, have them fit a new set at the end of the day and drive home with a big smile…what could be better?

7k?

I’ve just changed mine after a tad over 2k miles as they were fully on the wear bars in the rear and heat cycled out to the point that even straight-line grip was laughable.

Are the miles shorter in the UK?

Nah, I suspect Dan’s been driving like a girl

i got 6k per set (currently on set 3) on the rear… the front still has the original factory tyres and plenty of rubber left!

Yep correct… been driving like a big girl!

Be careful of the fronts heat cycling out and getting hard. Have you noticed more understeer? Just a thought.

when i said “good effort” i was of course talking from an economy perspective. I wish mine lasted that long! i think im on my 5th set of rears and 3rd set of fronts in 13 months
