Saw one parked up in Ipswich a couple of weekends ago. Originally thought it was an Elise, but when taking a closer look it was definitely a roaster. Should have took some photos, but was getting it in the ear for driving round the car park a second time 
Your original thought was correct!!!
An Exige has a roof… a roadster IS an Elise! 
Bloody Lotus undermining and confusing their own brand!!!.. what is the point!
