Exige of the Air....

I just need to save up a bit longer and I can get one of these…

If only!!! He dropped in to us for the weekend - we normally dont get such airborn pornography in our lowly hangar

Fcuk me…is that a half scale replica of your Exige???

Fancy going halfers on the jet???

do you get much hassle from the police re: your front number plate

Are you saying I’m a big fat Tw@t or the Hawk is bigger than you thought

I’d have to be John Travolta Minted to afford even a 1/4. I know a couple of guys with a Jet Provost and that costs a bomb to run - even more than the Exige

Not had the stick on plate on long enough really. The splitter mounted one was getting hammered and I was going to loose it eventually. Plate is a proper sized one and if I got any grief from a peeler I would be surprized (kiss of death) as the number of choppers running round with made up names/illegal fonts/strategically placed screw caps/all four seats taken by youths in BBall hats/blah blah…should keep the heat off me.

I suspect if I get pulled for anything it will be…

‘and to boot that plate should not be like that sonny jim - heres another 3 points!’

Every other MX5 has one of these plates and a fair few MGF’s so dont think it’s much of a problem.

Wah gerts Dad is a ministry man - he tests MOT testers etc… I asked him about it and he could not come up with any reason why It should fail? More likely to have a problem with a small plate.

S

i think, but dont quote me, its something to do with the plate being perpendicular to the horizontal

anyone know for sure?

Dunno, but my front plate has fallen off so many times (broken, shattered) that I currently have an empty bracket, and if I get pulled for that I’ll have to say it fell off again

Yeah I haven’t run a front plate for ages. I hit it with a hammer, so it cracked it and I keep it in the car, so if I get stopped I will say i hit it on a kerb and it fell off.

The MOT tests:

"Registration Plate
Condition, security, legibility and format of letters/numbers - for registered vehicles the plate must be

present
secure
not faded, dirty or obscured
be composed with correctly formed letters and spacing.

Remember too that your vehicle has to comply with ‘construction and use’ regulations which are not necessarily the same as the regulations regarding the MOT

much prefer this myself and it is for sale:

MMMMM, I wonder how much to upgrade my single engine PPL?

Tooooooo much, mon amigo

MMMMM, I wonder how much to upgrade my single engine PPL?

Well Russ you could start on a JP (Jet Provost) my mate can get you started if you like

In fact (as I’m sure you know but for the benefit of others) one can fly some reight kit with a PPL and a bit of experience

I remember when they used our hangar to cut up most of the old JP’s. They wheeled em off the line, took the bang seats, engines out, wings off and sawed em into three bits with a huge metal cutting chain saw!

Reight kit???

Reight -

South Yorkshire slang for ‘right’ in the context of confirming an order or otherwise. Is mainly used in Sheffield and Barnsley too, and should be pronounced as to rhyme with ‘eight’‘Reight thars haddit now’ (although this should read - Reight thas haddit nahh)
‘Alreight al do that’

Reight Kit - jolly spifing bit of equipment, the ‘Vicars nickers’, a wholly appropriate mans option of a vehicle etc…

Hope this helps

Russ they also sell jet engines separately - now that would quite literally blow away the the K/Honda/Audi competition
