Hi,
I am racing in Thailand an exige in a 2000cc 15 inches front and back wheels, BF goodrich slick no super charge turbo no multi throttle bodies by race regulation.
As my first season I race with stock engine and stock ecu just:
Exhaust quicksilver 4.2.1, free exhaust pipe, fidanza clutch, stainless air filter panel, Ohlins factory modify in France, ride 90mm 100mm back, spacer (i hate them) 20mm locally cnc, the car is not that good in cornering, but in fact by the 15 inches rules I should have that.
I notice against the 2000cc civic EK and other, my braking is better at the begining of the race, on the grid my start is much better, the fidanza clutch is excellent, on the straight the civic eclipse me, on the cornering civic enter slower but go out faster (fwd), on the hill and slow corner my exige is not that bad for 162 hp at the wheel. Civic have 230 to 250hp at the wheel. I finish 7… the season on 12 cars with 80% of the race finish. (first one Altis Toyota factory car, 2nd civic EK, 3rd civic EK, 4 IS200 and 5 Altezza.
I dont have engine failure, no accident, just a race I miss it (stupid sick).
I notice serious brake disk problem that doesn t allow me to brake hard after racing 10 minutes (lotus original and Belgium ones) like fading and more even with 70mm pipe to cool it. I use pagid rs14. I still looking for decent brake disc or we try to upgrade to the new ap upgrade if enter in offset diameters is all right.
My season 2008 I am modifying:
2nd hand 2zzge Engine: motec m800, cable single butterfly, new airbox, optimized polished head cylinder, make to order head gasket, piper camshaft stage 3 320 degrees, eibach springs, Wiseco piston 12.5, crowder con rodd, mrw bearings, modify and balanced crankshaft, liner skirt, all engine arp studs, fidanza flywheel, modify clutch command and fidanza clutch, quaife close ratio dog gear and final drive 4.8, quaife lsd, some modification for the clutch system and other modification. We expect 220/230 hp at the wheel.
Target: 3rd of the champion ship.
We are looking for new rims 15 inches with plenty of offset and space for the 4 pistons ap calliper.
I am on to know about suggestions for 15 inches rims and brake upgrade.
Engine is 90% ready, we are doing the wiring.
First try mid/end feb.
Will tell u more.
