Exige N/A 04

I am selling my exige NA can someone say if I am selling this for to much as keep getting silly offers and saying where to go.
Lotus Exige S2 cars for sale - PistonHeads UK :lolno:

Having just sold mine on ph , I can relate to the dicks who keep emailing with stupid offers !
Stick to your asking price and it’ll sell in it’s own time.
you only need one genuine buyer.
Mileage is a tad high and it’s probably this that is encouraging all the dicks to quote Glass’ s guide figures etc

So you think the air con and spider mark has nothing to do with it. Was told to sell it at £18500 but can’t justify selling at that price due to the little work that needs doing.

I’d get the paint sorted, but doubt lack of aircon makes much difference

IMHO lack of air con may not affect price too much but it will be a factor in how long it takes to sell on.

Price looks fine to me.

If AC only needs a Regas will only cost £50 and I would get quote for paint then you would not have any negatives. Also shows you have kept on top of any work the car might need

It’s the condenser that’s gone as it has a crack in it. So that £360 for that part and the paintwork I have had a quote of £400 to do rear clam. Only had the rear clam resprayed last year lol

The way I see it is that because the air con was an extra to the car, I.e and added option, I see it as an option to either leave it or fix it. When taken the car for its service and maidstone sports cars he said that for its age it’s in really good condition.

Hardly any cars were specc’d without it, so buyers will want it now just as much as back in the day. If i were in the market for your car i would view it as a sign of lack of care/maintenance. However unfair that might seem it’s how most folks would perceive it (i reckon)

The paint issue sounds pretty minor in comparison.

Up till last year I used that car all the time from going to work, nights out,and going up and down the country many times. I got to the point of thinking to myself whats the point in keep repaying the paintwork if I’m using it all the time not the fact that I can’t be bothered to look after it it was the fact that people don’t know how to park their cars or others or the fact that fibre glass weather’s. So got the car sorted to some idiot 30 days later putting the same spider mark on the back end to where it has just been sprayed. The air con I never used so never saw the point in repairing it. I do see every ones point and if the car does not sell I will take it back to the body shop but leave the air con  and put it back on the market. Don’t really want to sell it tbh as I know I will never have one again

I would prob say fix air con and leave the paint. Paint gets wear and tear especially if you have used car lots, so got to expect marks hear and there. Where as air con is mechanical/electrical part and it may make people think that you have just used car and not bothered to keep on top of maintenance even if you don’t even use it.

I agree. Would definitely get the air con fixed. The quote you had for paint seemed a bit expensive of would get that done too.

Might be worth trying a few places for pricing for paintwork.

I am selling my S soon and had the splitter painted even though there was only a little scratch from catching it with the mower (duh).

Had the AC gas checked too but shame yours is not so simple.

Yeah I paid £120 to check and re gas last month and that’s how they found out it was the condenser. Shame I had to pay the money still. Worse thing is, is that a saw a used condenser that went for £70 and was taken out of an 2012 exige…

Ha how did you catch the mower lol

Because his garage is jammed full of Lotus

Well been quoted £225 for a new condenser, sure I can find one cheaper.
