Exige header tank....leak

Noticed water on the ridge of the header tank (Exige).

Wiped dry and took for a 30 min drive, on inspection after the water was evident around the ridge and around the top rubber hose area.

Water level is just above Min, top is on correctly and water temps are fine.

Questions, do I cut the rubber pipe and reconnect to see if this is the fault… is this known as a fault?
Cannot see any cracks or evidence of failure on the header tank… does the Exige have any header tank issues?
What is the white nipple thing on top… pressure valve?

The plastic does age…it could very well be the tank itself…

Sadly they do die, no good for them being in the sun. Get a radium one they are really nice :slight_smile:

If you run your finger nail over the plastic and it goes chalky its on its way out, new header tank is about £200 new

Mine turned to sugar and fell apart. Plenty on eBay and they may be cheaper from a Toyota dealer.

I had a new one on mine last year as it was leaking. My car is an 07 with 50k on the clock. From memory mine came from Toyota and was about £90
