The time attache vx220’s run wider wheels, and ive not heard of any suspension failures on them. Should be okay with 265 rears I imagine, its the rolling pins that Greg as that would put a lot of strain on the suspension. I will have a closer inspection of the exige v6 tonight.
Vauxhall fit 8.8 grade bolts to the VX220 hub carrier, and Lotus fit 10.9 (no idea why the difference) - Worth changing frequently after looking at the pic above!!

I’ve just had a dig around and found some bolts! These say 12.8 on them and these are what i replaced the original bolts with after my lucky escape. 7 left, they are of no use to me anymore
If anyone wants them let me know and i’ll post them to you - free as i’m feeling generous today
I still got why the 17/18 combo will affect the wishbone angles when the rolling radius is close the oem by goign lower on the tyre profile…or am i missing something?
The idea of this thread was to find the best compromise for handling and looks. Still happy to go with 16/17 if that proves better.
Still thinking about longer wishbones from Pilbeam racing. Certainly cheraper than braids
You are right for the rear a 245/40/17 is the same as a 285/30/18. Least expensive way to go is with a 16/18 if you want standard ride heights without the expence of changing out the uprights…
