Im sure I already know the answer but is changing Exiges, soley because you like the colour of another one a ‘legitimate’ reason, especially if you own a minter already…the S1 Exige ive got is still virtually ‘as new’ and i’d be hard pushed to find a better one in any colour BUT I cant help think that i’d still love a Krypton Green or Chrome Orange one!
what are the economics on it? What would it cost you to trade vs the cost of a complete respray?

Well finding an S1 in Chrome Orange is possible but not in the condition my current Exige is in and it would be a travesty to respray this one BUT that means only one thing…an S2 and I dont really want an S2 but that Chrome Orange and Krypton Green really does it for me but the S2 doesnt!

If you get an S2, you won’t need all them fancy Snap On tools, will ya?

or you could get really good use out of them by just having a second set of clams, etc made up and some quick fitting fasteners to swap them over when the mood takes you?
Specialised Paintwork in Reading do colour changes, seen a couple they’ve done, quality of work is SO much better than factory finish, shame one was in a flip colour, great job, just too TVR for my taste…
All in they colour change all the car for 3K…

3K?
Thats not bad at all!
I’d ideally love an S1 in Chrome Orange in the condition with all of the correct mods and paperwork that mine has got.
Its not that i dont like its present colour of Quartz but ive already got a silver car and used to have a Ford Capri 3.0S in Signal Orange and it looked the dogs b@llocks!
Although I think silver and derivitives of show off the lines and contuors to its best advantage I just love the brashness of Orange and really dont fancy an S2!
Theres been a few CO ones for sale over the last 12 months but none of them exceptional, either in condition or past history, my current one is exceptional!
Being an anorak I always try to keep my vehicles as original to factory reccommended specs as possible so im not sure i could face spraying a PERFECT car another colour!

Steve,
Not sure whether you were having a laugh or not BUT great idea…any thoughts on how much that woud cost?

Id keep them as ornaments!
Not a clue mate and probably a bit harder and it 1st appears.
I know I have rattled on about Smart cars on another thread but they have swapable coloured panels and the smart equivalent to this board has a section were you can literally swap your colour for any other one available with another owner.
I don’t think respraying the car wuld detract rom its value. As already mentioned a good body shop will produce a finish that far exceeds the shitty Lotus paint finish. Plus once you have had the logbook changed over, who is gonna know???
Orange man, you know it makes sence!!

TVR Green-Blue-Purple Flip color is awesome!
But would definetely go for something like Lamborghini’s Arancio Borealis! Best looking orange ever!
But you’ll have to compliment that with black wheels (which you should already have, since you’ve got an S1)
Go for it!
