Got some questions on aero bits as I am looking at rear diffusers, side sills etc.
I’ve had the Reverie diffuser before (Ta Mr Fox) and I am looking at options. MMG do an ali option.
Also looking at side sills - again there’s a Reverie option but also Sector 111 do some nice race sills. The Reverie ones look a bit crap on the install pics as the edges are visible.
The Sector 111 ones look MASSIVE !!!
YOu have a fab ORIGINAL 260 CUP! LEAVE it alone man!!!
If you want to mod a car, I’ll swap mine with you plus cash and you can go mad on doing anything you want! Blue is a nice contrast with a white suit too!
There’s the Difflow ally diffusers in US , they do custom jobs to but there’s the shipping and tax on top .
Steves the man to ask on here about the MMG one as i think he has one .

S2 diffusers are quite hard to get decent upgrades for sensible prices, I ended up with a second hand maddog one as I could not get an extended ally one new anywhere at the time
I spent a long, long time reading up some aero articles relating to diffusers, splitters and the like before buying my diffuser…and even after all this I’m still a long way off fully understanding the full effects of something like a diffusers design, etc. There are careers specifically aimed at such things so my comments relating to my tinkering should be taken very lightly (!)
From research it’s easy to upset the handling of car (particularly i would have thought an Exige on track) by adding a large diffuser or splitter, etc. Whatever you go for you have to think carefully about its effect on your cars handling and whether or not you will need to counter balance one aero part with another. For example my car feels lighter at the front end at speeds over 70mph since fitting my diffuser, so I’m now considering some front canards to counter the extra rear downforce (ps - if yours is a MY10 model Exige you will not get a larger front splitter as no one makes them - yet…).
In all honestly i didnt think my rear diffuser would have such a pronouced effect but there you go…I’m now on the slippery slope of aerodynamics without the aid of a wind tunnel or the time/money/iq to do it really thoroughly…the good old seat of the pants dyno will have to do (!)
If I havent put you off “tinkering” then all I would say is be careful with some of the really, really large diffusers as they’ll create turbulent air leaving the diffuser and just slow you down without the added benefit of creating any useful downforce. I loved the look of the extreme ones on the Sector 111 and Difflow websites but from my understanding they’ll not do anything other than look good (subjectively).
The ones that look really aggressive tend to have a crazy amount of upsweep angle. On the short wheel base of an Exige I would go for between 7 degrees and 10 degrees angle, although it might not look ultra agressive at 7 degrees it will generate more downforce than OE and 10 degrees even more so.
Mines the MMG one and it works well enough for me with all the right angles and lengths, etc. They took their design from looking at molds of various motorsport Elise/Exige diffusers plus for 400 in satin black ali I think its been a worthy upgrade for the price (as in it looks good/right and is definately adding more downforce). I personally felt that spending between 600 and 1k on another brands diffusers that either looked very similar to OE or like something off of a ww1 Foker triplane would have been a questionable purchase.
I’m liking that alot.
Any side profiles on the car?
I must say, reading those articles on the effect on downforce (and indeed stability) from differing angles, lengths, entry/exit sizes, this area of aero is a minefield and makes me think it’s an area for chaps with windtunnels rather than a hammer, anvil and a hunch.
Personally, I wouldn’t run with the MMG logo on the rear clam, but at least it can come off.

I’m talking to more than one University to see if I can get MMG some wind tunnel testing time…seem to be getting somewhere so watch this space altho i still reckon it will be months and not weeks away.

LMAO
will the MMG fit if the rear panel is kept ? [/quote]
I believe so altho to be sure call Liam at the workshop to check, oh and if you buy one make sure you tell him Steve said it was 400 ! (prices havent been officially agreed yet so they maybe a fraction more when live on the website).
