exhaust upgrade

Hi all, been a while since my last post. My cat has recently decided to give in (rattling inside) on my 06 n/a exige. I have been advised that it needs replacing, any suggestions? this is probably correct but im not really that good with cars  but i am trying.

Anyways if the cat is gone it seems like a good opportunity for an exhaust upgrade, i want to track the car and hopefully if i get sorted in time, have a novice day coming up with L.O.T so with keeping noise levels down can anybody tell me which route to take. As in decat, sports cat and i think ive seen a silenced de-cat out there.

Cheers in advance for any help Craig

My orignal 04 n/a cat started rattling. By the time i had taken it out there was no insides left !! (cheap verson of a decat pipe !!)

I’ve gone with a larini sports cat which has been fine for the last 18 months. I understand that lotus now do an uprated cat for people planning on regulary tracking the car. Not sure on the spec of this compared with Larini and 2bular.

2bular all the way for me.
You really need to decide how much if any noise you want, my suggestion though is as your cat has died get a sport cat, still mot friendly and a bit more noise. As for box so many choices so little time, but best rule of thumb small = noisy big is quiet, go to a track day and listen to see what you like.
As always you pay your money and make your choice, everyone here has made their own choice for many reasons I put my money in 2bular and have not been dissapointed great sound and well made, always tough to get as he is so busy making systems so i suppose that is a reccomendation on its own.
If you live near Oulton Park come along to the LoT trackday on the 30th Oct and have a listen.

I’ll putting on the 2bular de-cat pipe for the 30th

Anything I should know

I would go for the Tullett system. My experience with his systems is extremely good.

I have the 2bular Sports Cat and backbox atm and am very happy with both. You will have a permanent MIL with most aftermarket systems.

With my larini sports cat and 2bular gt3 back box I’ve only had the MIL light on once when i first installed it and it went out its self after a few drives.

I gave up with mine, just gotused to the orange glow, I’d think there was something wrong if it went off

Dont you have a cat bypass though? thats probably why.

Silenced cat for me, the mil illiminator did not seem to work correctly

I managed to speak to jim at 2bular, and after his advice, ive gone for the sports cat with the flanges, which will enable the 4-2-1 header upgrade in the future.

Hopefully ill be down at oulton park for the trackday on the 30th watching and listening obviously, not racing. Might be able to put some faces to some names.

Cheers Craig

Be great to see you there
