Exhaust choice -Larini 'club sport' with oval tip?

Hi all. I am looking to upgrade my exhaust from the standard one. I want one that pops and bangs but i would like to keep the standard cat. Has anyone got a larini club sport with an oval tip with standard cat? If so does it pop and bang much on overrun? Any other exhausts that pop that anyone can recommend? I know the lotus stage 3 does but the ‘for track use only’ stamp puts me off. Thanks in advance. John

I’d go 2bular - http://2bular.com/product-catalogue.html

You will need to add a decat if you want it to pop and bang really loud.

Stick a TRD airbox and filter on whilst your at it.

2bular is the way to go…GT3 setup

Got to be cos its the one I have

Never thought I’d fully agree with the Frankmeister !

Thanks for the replies.Which size 2bular would get the best pops with the standard cat? im guessing the 6" dia? Any one with any experience with the clubsport larini?

Pops are due to the tune not the exhaust, too much fuel on decel cut off like this.

You really don’t want them since it will screw up your cat.

Decat base tune, too rich in decel…

If you call Jim he’ll make sure you get exactly what you are looking for…which is nice :sunglasses:

Hi dicko, have you been back to preston grange i don’t think you have posted up for a while. Any way back to zorsts i can recommend the larini race box which has an interchangable mid section sounds ace. Ollie at phoenix motorsport can supply and fit, near you at Accrington.

I agree, just ring Jim and tell him what you want and several weeks later you will have a thing of beauty you want to hang on your wall…
But it is better on the car

Larini exhaust have lost power on the dyno…This is a fact.

Another happy 2bular owner here. The first one Jim made me was too loud for Bedford, and so he’s made me another one which should be that little bit quieter - I’ll find out next weekend.

I have a 2bular 8x22 which pops and crackles beautifully (with std cat and trd filter)

^^^^^^^^^^^^ same exhaust as above, lots of pops and bangs, quiet on cruise and lovely raw on the gas. Sounds like a bike on high revs. Track friendly and borderline at Bedford with a TRD.

Thanks for the replies everyone. sounds like 2bular is the way to go. I am planning to maybe track the car eventually (in a year or so) and only a few times a year… i am not bothered about tracking on certain tracks (ie strict ones like bedford) but will there be tracks that allow me on with a 6" 2bular gt3 with standard cat?

Hi gp fisher…not been back to the preston garage as i didnt like the service there.i take my car to christopher neils instead. Hope your well and thank you for the exhaust recommendation

6" 2bular will be very loud!

I had a 7" and that was too loud and I stuggled with most tracks. I ended up going for a 8" which is still very loud on full throttle - but that is with 3" piperwork and 300+bhp.

If you plan to modify your car, its worth considering going for the larger 2.75" pipework, or even the 3" if your plan to go for crazy power.

Thanks n17ves (beauty of a car if i may add).Did you have a standard cat? I dont plan any more mods for the car. hmmmm its a hard decision. I feel like maybe the 7 inch is the one to go for if i am having normal pipework and no extra power mods. Has anyone got this set up with a standard cat?

Go for the 8"
or you could be sorry you didn’t

Go 8" unless you want to track only in Europe!

anything smaller than the 824 really will put you at noisy days only but it will sound fantastic, personally I would avoid the 6" system and go for the 7" if you want loud as that will be plenty loud enough already.
I have a silenced decat 8
24 big bore system and 300hp sadly even with that setup I can only do noisy days at Donington for instance :frowning: and can never get on around bedford

Cheers mate. Yes, I have Jims 100cel sports cat.

As ade said, 8x24 is on the loud side with our cars. I managed okay at Oulton Park and Anglesey with the 7x24 GT3 back box, but only just! Better with the 8x24 box, but still a struggle at some tracks. TRD box makes a difference too.
