Neal.
Thanks for the heads up - have contacted them - keep my fingers crossed
It looks like they're going to use my car - very excited.
Thanks Neal I owe you a pint sometime.
Alex
Congrats
Whats the feature to be about (if thats not a dumb question). They seem to be giving Lotus lots of coverage…for a change
Don’t know much yet, but will let you guys know when I do.
Alex
Congratulations. I look forward to hearing a full report (and getting a free pint)
Neal.
Nice one, make sure she’s scrubbed up well and on her best behaviour
I have got some studded snow tyres if you need them!
cheers Pete quite glad I haven’t fitted 48s or 888s yet
Congrats! I was going to put mine forward but have to work.
Let us know how it goes!
Mark
Photoshoot is Monday and Tuesday.
Apparently its an article about “modern icons” 9 other cars including Racing Puma, Clio V6, 996 GT3, 360 CS. Looking forward to it, but weather doesn’t look promising .
Will try and post a full report later in the week.
Alex
Neal - Thanks again for posting this, I had a fantastic couple of days with the EVO team, even got to drive a couple of cars on the second day (I was the only owner to go back ).
I will write a report as requested, but have been asked not to give too much away before the publication date (7th Feb). So will write a more detailed account then.
I can tell you that the Exige will be on the cover of the mag and should have at least a double page spread devoted to it. Henry Catchpole in particular loved it and drove it both days.
The EVO guys were great to be around and it was fascinating seeing the amount of effort that goes into each article.
Cheers
Alex
Sounds brilliant! I look forward to getting a hold of a copy when it’s out and reading all about it
Neal.
Good work
Nice one
Sounds fantastic - can’t wait to read about it.
Mark
…the Exige will be on the cover of the mag…
Well not on the subscribers/collections edition (althought the Zonda R pic there is stunning!) and not as many words as I’d hoped for (perhaps you can fill in the blanks?) but they love it.
Have you got Nitrons? Might reduce some of the roll they mention.
Ian
Hi Ian
Hoping that the normal shop edition will feature the cover shot I helped them with at Goodwood, will try and fill the blanks in sometime this week.
I don’t have nitrons and can’t afford to go there at the mo - just bought motorsport seats, harnesses and bar, and just had Toyo R888 fitted at the end of a Walshy activity day yesterday. I plan to learn more about the car on track this year with the LSS and then think about / decide this time next year whether to spend money on suspension or getting Dave Andrews to work his magic on the engine.
Where abouts are you in Hampshire?
Cheers
Alski
I know exactly what you are thinking Alex! Been there!
From what I read… and then did not very well!!!, the best way ahead with the ‘mod’ program is first suspension, second brakes and then the engine!
Nitrons are expensive, but they apparantly are the biz! I went 1/2 way and upgraded my LSS with Protech dampers and Faulkner springs. (the same spec as GAZ Golds)Been very pleased with this set-up and if I compare the before/after photos at the same corner at Donny, my car rolls MUCH less. 1/2 the cost too!
However, if I had my time again, I would have saved up for the Nitrons!
Brakes… went down the Elise Parts ally belled route, but the fronts were not up to the job and starting vibrating badly during track day stops! Should have gone straight to AP’s on the fronts… as I am now!
Engine… BEST improvement by far is the Emerald and Verniers. I took the opportunity to have DVA work on the head after discovering a problem with No 3 liner and rings. Great job and did make a HUGE difference…
All I would say with the benefit of hindsight is dont skimp and try to do all at once.
The cars are adictive and you will end up wanting the best possible and that you can afford. I think it is better to wait and save the bucks to do these in order and properly the first time! Cheaper in the long run!
Pete.
Can’t wait to see although it’ll be MONTHS before we get it here… we’re still waiting for the one with the Lotus feature to turn up here (can someone please confirm what month the Lotus feature was?) I’m assuming your car will be in the March issue?
