And whilst we’re at it - I can’t for the life of me think why smoking whilst driving isn’t an offence! Something else I used to do!!! [/quote]

Nor me !!! ( IMHO)

It’s like all the daily mail headline grabbing bull…

What makes us look like we care about safety?? Lets vilify mobile phone use… oh this week lets make having a dog on the back seat the issue…

Driving with due care and attention should be the focus - so if you are swapping CDs, turning round to shout at your kids, stroking the dog, getting fags / sandwiches / makeup out of bag, drinking alcohol etc then you are not driving safely.

Educate people that overall safe and attentive driving is whats required rather than focusing on headline grabbing…

Trouble with a lot of older French people is they dont consider wine as alcohol. You visit someone for dinner ,they offer you wine, you refuse[because you’r driving] and they look at you like you have insulted them and ask if you only drink Brown Ale.

Okay, Mr Pedantic - set a limit as low as practical to be enforcable. The sooner drunks, & the uninsured are off the road, the better, as far as I am concerned.

PS I am not proud of my own former drink driving habits from many years ago - I was lucky not to get caught, nor have any “accidents” as a result of the boozing.

PSML and I think the same about the smoking Pesky!!!

Talking to passengers and looking at the speedo has a lot to answer for too, and as for carrying children in a car, man, that’s a dangerous pass time!

be ready dear exigers

it has been voted

from the 1st of july, you’ll have to carry a breath analyser in your car

What is the stated purpose of this? How are they justifying the requirement?

french drivers drink too much red wine

didn’t pay attention to the official reason for this BS
