Maybe one or two of our number have contributed on the quiet but I’m surprised that a higher total has not been forthcoming.
Come on, add a couple of quid to the pot.
Done - come on lads support the plucky Brit on his invasion into Europe
Once again guys, thanks. And thank you for just now Ben, your generosity is very much appreciated.
Out of interest we are now up to £650 in total (£500 through PayPal) and that amount is made up by 15 contributions in total.
The car will be on display on the Quantum Racing Suspension stand at Brands this weekend at the Lotus festival so hopefully it’ll catch the attention of a few people.
Agreed Ben.
It is really sad that a totally ‘one off’ effort like this was treated with such distain by SELOC.
You will be going Jamie… and I really hope you guys win Sad that would then make front page news on that forum… All take and no give.
Mini rant over!
Seloc are quite sad at times, this being a prime example of their short sightedness…
I know, I know. The directors made a decision and that’s that. The paying forum members however, were very much against it being removed which is the sad thing… Also worth noting that Seloc did a feature on the car and we took out Andy Swift who did the report, as a passenger. Along with the fact that the car is heavily sponsored by Eliseparts, Pro-Alloy, Quantum, TDI-South etc and these companies all have quite a big involvement within the Lotus community and in the racing circles. So, that is the reason that I won’t be putting Seloc forum stickers on the car, but instead the names of the people who have contributed. And that’s my little rant over!
Anyway, we’re now suddenly up to about £750 all in!!! I think I may just have to put our entry in now and hope for the best.
Good news on the cash front.

No problemo bud. If you don’t win I expect a full refund
Unfortunately we’ve got some very bad news. I’m afraid that it’s game over for us for the rest of this season and for the European event which were so excited about taking part in.
Yesterday, whilst testing at Silverstone ready for competition on Sunday, we had a fairly substantial engine failure in our second session of the day. Everything was going well and then without warning through turn 1, the engine let go. Until we pull and strip the engine we won’t know the exact cause of the failure, but having checked the data from the session, the oil pressure went down quite dramatically just before the failure. Now it may not be the case, but this could be due to our new Accusump not working properly, but that’s another story. It just so happens that Rex Stamp has now lost 2 engines in the last few weeks, also after fitting a new Accusump…
To say I and the rest of the team are all absolutely gutted, would be the largest of all understatements. Along with the rest of our luck this year, it’s the sort of thing that just makes you want to give it all up and find a new hobby. And with the budget we have, it’s just not an option to do this again. The problem is though, that this hobby is in my blood and I know that I’ll be lost without it. So I’ll just take it on the chin…again, and just keep on telling myself that building probably the worlds fastest Exige, isn’t always going to be plain sailing. Hopefully we’ll be back sooner, rather than later though.
So, as far as the European event is concerned, I will be refunding everyone who contributed in the next few days. Again, a huge, huge thank you to everyone who had helped us to get a budget together. We had actually pretty much achieved our target to get us to the event which makes it that much more disappointing.
Over and out for now.
Gutted for you Jamie but I’m more than happy for my miniscule donation to go towards your repair costs.
Cheers

Thanks very much, but that just wouldn’t be right. Everyone’s getting a refund, end of. I just hope PayPal don’t screw me as much as they have been doing so far.
