Hi, just asking realy if this is normal as today i was driving my exige and i noticed the temp was 103c i have been stuck in traffic and also was going about 20 mph in dartford tunnel but once i start to get to 70 mph the temp dropped down to 85-87, i know this is the normal running temp but thought when it gets over 99c the fans should kick in. so i was also thinking was it due to going slow in the tunnel with warm gases in the air so that the car was not really getting any cool air from the fans, i will leave the engine on to run tomorrow to see if they kick in.
Normal for me is 85-89, but pressed on the track I’ve reached the dizzy heights of 99.
I think twin oil coolers makes a massive difference on track.
I’ve never seen anything past 87 on track.
I once got scared in London as well when I left the City in a trafic jam. It hitted several times 100C and I notticed hickups because my charger cooler went to hot (too hot air entering the engine). I stopped several times to let it cool- down. Mine is equiped with twin oil coolers (CUP 240) as standard.
But when I left the City behind me and went South on the M20 everything became normal again.
Regards

My old n/a exige that only had one oil cooler once ran at 103-105 playong on the italian mountains! Didnt have any problems but specified twin coolers on its replacement!

Fans should come on half speed 98 or aircon on, full speed 103+.
Never did it since so think it must of been hot air entering the engine to make it get to 103
