Can anyone tell me approx what rpm the engine should run up to at initial start up?
Feels like my S revs too high as soon as it catches, it does then settle down nicely, would like to get a feel for what is normal for start up.
Thanks

They all do that, never known why, very good at waking the neighbours when you have a big exhaust
EFA…
To be fair, since mine has been remapped, they removed this function so it does not rev so hard at startup, still no idea what possesed Lotus into making it do it. Maybe to do with extreme cold startup or something?
Wife’s Mini Cooper S does that. . Thought it was my big feet but still does it without help from me …odd.
seriouslylotus: ade:with a standard ECU, They all do that, never known why, very good at waking the neighbours when you have a big exhaust

Thanks all, don’t think the way it is set up can be great for longevity of the top end of the motor…
Presume nothing can be done to bring the start up speed down without a remap?
Lots of cars do this now, the Evora being one of them. I think Astons have a shouty start up too
F-Type does it too, but does sound good!
Its probably so it sounds like more of an event… or sportier…
The Elan does it too.
I have my foot firmly planted on the loud pedal
