Quite happy [/quote]
So you should be! Your car was going very well at Anglesey
Hi Pete
Well, honestly believe we can greatly improve the performance of your engine, but I think it is a good engine.
Most important is that you are satisfied and happy with your engine.
I can teach you two graphs of two similar engines, both with 285H cams, one of a Caterham and one from an MGTF.
This engine is a 1.8 with the standart pistons, the power final is only 190 c.v and the torque is 20.8 Nm, so that not is secure increase power with this piston, but on the rolling road reaching 200 hp and slightly more torque that this graph.
The other is a 1.9 engine in an MGTF, but a problem of temperature produced by a pin piston out of its location in the standard con rod and an exhaust system small of Janspeed and CAT. This engine obtain 195 bhp and 140 LB/FT.
You can imagine the loss of power and torque because of this.
Without this problem, the engine should have come without problems and with the appropriate exhaust system to aproxx 210 c.v. and of course much more torque.
Here in addition to losing much compression ratio in this cylinder, during operation the pin piston was dragging by the liners and causing increased friction and heat.
Well, because after to do 5.000km, and go to Emerald in Uk and return to Spain, the engine was never broken over this.
This shows the hardness of my blocks 1.9 or 2.0k
Any standard block had resisted 5000km, more the distance to go to UK and return to Spain, more the entire session in order to make Emerald the map.
I am sure of this.
Regards
Vicente
