Hi, I am about to refresh my engine, apart from the usuals such as big end & main bearings, piston rings, what other items should I definately replace ie. oil / water pump.
Regarding bearings, I spoke to Scholar and they said standard mains were fine but they recommended uprated big ends. Anybody (Dave) have any suggestions / makes. Cheers Tony
The trophy 160 big-ends (the latest standard bearings) are fine, I have used them in engines up to 250BHP with no issues. make sure that when you buy the part number on the back of the shell starts LFB000150. If you have trouble sourcing any parts I keep virtually everything in stock…
